  1. The Pats Monday nighter was nearly a DECADE ago. That 2013 team...Smitty, TD, Luke, Gross, Kalil, Prime Cam, Greg, Tolbert, Stewart, Gamble, Norman, Charles Johnson, Hardy. The talent was INSANE. Thanks Hurney and Gettleman, your services were very much appreciated /s
  2. Where the hell did time go? Can't believe his rookie year was nearly 12 years ago. Almost 4 full seasons removed from Cam. Almost at the 20 mark from Cardiac. Hell, kids born after Delhomme's opener comeback against JAX can drink alcohol. This aging thing is crazy. I'd like a good team again, please. Someone, anyone...
  3. Irsay is probably joining the meetings now with his only question: "What do you think about working with Jeff Saturday on your staff? Because my buddy ain't leaving"
  4. What's even trying to be accomplished here? It's a business. That's it. They made a decision; move on.
  5. The modern defense is so mixed scheme wise, there's barely even a true "base" defense for over half the teams. We do need a guy that could line 3 or 5 tech depending on Brown and Burns' assignments. Absolutely LOVED Justin Madubuike the other year and that player type is who I'd love to target.
  6. Not to mention Wentz didn't entirely work out, yet they've since won a SB and are one of the final 4 this year. Comes to show all of the supposed capital they gave up didn't even have THAT big of an impact in their build in the greater scheme of things. If you think you found a QB, go get the dude.
  7. Skip and Shannon are just mega annoying click chasers. They never seem to have a pulse on any of the teams they talk about in any sort of depth. Just crap ESPN shows being crap.
  8. True, it'd still be cool to grab one or two to grow with the young gun from day 1. Could help create an entirely new and tight locker room. I hear ya though. I'll tell you one thing, it's sure as hell refreshing to be past the HC hire and look towards the build out now.
  9. Yeah, my only added want within this type of move is adding weapons on rookie deals that fit well and can grow with our QB. If you find the guys that fit, you find a way to get them. This draft has some really promising mid rounders at WR, TE, & RB. Land a Stroud, you can still get some variation of a WR/TE/RB combo pack. There's a lot to like after the consensus R1 ranks...some ideas being... WR: Josh Downs, Rashee Rice, Jonathan Mingo, Malik Knowles, Moreno-Cropper TE: Luke Musgrave, Dalton Kincaid, Luke Schoonmaker RB: Zach Charbonnet, Sean Tucker, Tyjae Spears, Chase Brown, Roschon Johnson, Abanikanda
  10. I'm a proponent of a trade up if we identify a franchise guy. Simple as that. It shouldn't feel like an, oh well, Richardson is the only one left, let's just grab him at 9 and hope we develop him. It should be a proactive get for the QB we want, and yeah, I would wager some future picks. It's not like we can't still draft and find more talent. Depending on where the trade up is, we could easily keep one of our seconds and mid rounders. So what if we're missing out on what could've been a Terrace Marshall, Tommy Tremble, or YGM pick that was included in the trade. Those choices show those picks on their own are gambles in their own right. The whole draft is guesswork anyways. If you think you've found the best guy in it and can grab him, f*cking do it.
  11. Manuel is no slouch. I'm sure Reich has a top-3 to 4 guys in play, will definitely be interested to see how it unfolds.
  12. Yup. Both interviews give reason to be optimistic about the staff. A HC becomes great with the guys around him. Reich seems to have learned a lot on building out his crew. Hopefully the mix of guys he's alluding to is followed through. My biggest takeaways with this first day-ish: -Lively offense. QB centric w/intelligence & playmaking being top traits -Balanced coaching staff -- wants the experienced, up and comers, the yellers, & the reserved. They all have their place. Can't have too many of any particular type, it's about both being quality and complimentary. -He really likes our defensive core and wants to keep building it. I think we're trying to get one of these top guys pretty swiftly. Gonna guess Manuel. There's no "program" to buy into or whatnot. He sounds like he's very sound, matter of fact and wants to build in a smart, balanced, methodical way. Complimentary pieces, all about cohesion and intelligence.
  13. Straight up Tabor & OL shout out. Bodes well for Tabor & Camped staying (hopefully)
  14. Once Arthur is fired this year, he can get the whole Nashville crew back together.
  15. I know many may not want to hear it, because many (including myself) want to do what we can to land Stroud or Young, but Derek Carr has become a very real possibility. It's not my ideal move, but I'd advise to not be surprised if that turns up. Brissett, Wentz, Foles, sure, one of those guys may end up here instead of Darnold to supplement a rookie, but I wouldn't discard the Carr possibility.
  16. Methinks Houston is waiting to announce Jonathan Gannon once the Iggles win the SB. Can definitely see Ryans happening in Denver, it's really him or Shaw at this point.
  17. With Quinn returning to Dallas, Shaw or Ryans become the new front runners in Denver. Is Indy seriously going with 1-10 Saturday? 2nd interviews were Evero & Morris but Irsay may still go with his buddy
  18. Mikey Bidwell & him turned their interview into a day's-long date
  19. So yeah....word is Payton may be signing with AZ today.
  20. Bozeman is the only absolute certainty needing to be re-signed, regardless of the offensive scheme we're bringing in. The rest, I think we can figure it out with coaching identifying the fits that are out there. Would think Shaq on a discount would be dope, but we'll see. He'll be a decent/slightly above-avg LB on his 3rd contract, it's not going to be as much as his last one (by any means), but we'll have to see what type of defense we're building and if he fits.
  21. Rhule's staff was such a weird "experienced but not successful" hodgepodge of misfit toys. It was so bad. Hell, McAdoo ended up looking fine compared to some of them. I think Reich is going to have a much more diverse and promising approach to staff building. It's not a life raft to the guys drowning into retirement. He's got good connections.
  22. Yeppp I'm digging going in this type of direction at DC while getting the real experienced staff as positional coaches for fundamentals coaching. We've got one of the youngest rosters. Would love to see a blend of up and comers with upside at coordinator with the experienced guys (who have that experience) as position coaches.
  23. @Mr. Scot Check out Jason Michael. Mentioned him in another thread. Worked with Reich on that OG Chargers squad, was thrust into an OC role early for Ken Wiz at age 28 in TEN (crazy)...& had to work with Locker/Whitehurst/Mettenburger (yikes), and honestly, made then look fine, then coached Mariota's best season. Found his way back to the TE world on Reich's staff in Indy, and is now the Eagles TE coach. Only 37 with that type of experience is wild. Tight with Frank. Lots of road ahead, could be one to look out for as an OC.
