I think both teams are happy with the CMC trade. CLearly CMC is only of the most dynamic players when hes healthy. Last week made any 49er fan that was upset about the trade think they pulled off a coup. Carolina is happy with the trade because Foreman is running so well (on top of all the draft capital and getting rid of his contract) That said, if CMC did what he did last week and Foreman was not running well... I would hate to see what this place would be like.

Right now our oline is playing good, but if anything, we have seen that you cannot play without it. I think every draft we need to pick at least 1 guy up. #neveragain

OR you get something better. Honestly, pass rush doesnt matter if you dont have a QB. Nothing matters if we dont have a QB. Trading Burns for max value gives up more options in getting a QB. Until you have a QB nothing else matters..

I think we trade him for the simple face that his pay day is coming and we are probably 2-3 years away from making a strong push to be a contender.

No.. im not sure the exact numbers but with CMC new contract we would have paid him bonuses, we would have to pay for those. The yearly rate they pay but not the bonus.

it was a good trade. This whole offseason people bitched and moaned about how fragile he is and how much we are paying him. The first time he showed up on the injury report people were again like 'oh here we go again!' Now we trade him for 4 picks AND lose his contract, thats a good deal.

Yeah. It hurts losing CMC but the RB position is a luxury position these days. We were able to off load a huge contract and get a massive haul in return. We have the core of a very good team minus a coach and QB. That will get fixed this off season.

We are going to draft a rookie QB next year. CMC is THE BEST player to pair with a developing QB. On top of that his dead cap is nasty. Honestly our best player to trade for the biggest return is Burns. Which would make sense as we need to redo his contract this offseason. That said, my head is still in the sand... I still think we are a coach and a half decent QB away from being able to compete. LFG!!!

Im getting sick of this Parsons over Horn argument already.. Horn is an ELITE CB that this team desperately needed. This place would have lost their damn mind if we would have drafted a LB last year. The whole "i would have drafted 'x' player" argument always drive me damn crazy.

Good post. My 'like to see's' would be.. 1. Use CMC much more as a slot WR or a WR out of the backfield. Give the other RB's all the inside runs. Lets see what he can do at WR and save him for next season. 2. Cade Mays needs reps. Hes a boom or bust player. 3. TMJ needs significant reps. 4. Give Brandon Smith reps at OLB and DE. He is a physical Micah Perasons... lets see if we can create that.
