  1. Agreed. We took Sam's 5th year. So its likely he is here next year. I think we need sit him the rest of the year and let him learn from the sideline. Putting him out there is not helping us win and because of the 5th year option we need to see what he could be next year. We should bring in a vet to finish off the rest of the year and go into next season with Sam with an open QB competition. But at this point putting Sam out there is not good for anyone.
  2. I would argue that Julio Jones has been a better WR with less media coverage because of team he plays on. TY Hilton is in the same conversation. Small market team, really good numbers. Im not really here to argue about stats.. More that that market you play in 'makes' the player.
  3. Fair. But there are also a lot of other good players that put up stats, but play on smaller market teams.
  4. I find it amazing how one catch on a big market team, vs a big market team suddenly propels you into super stardom.
  5. I get what your saying but we have cap regardless of the rookie QB. So if we get a QB this year or the next we are still in a good spot. Actually waiting is probably better cause DJ Moore, Reddick and Burns will all take new deals soon. Horn I dont think needs to be generational to be worthy of his spot. The the modern NFL you need to stop the pass and you need plenty of CB's to do that. Its a really important position.
  6. Its crazy to think about how young Sam is given how long hes has played already. Im still not completely ready to give us on him. Might be best to put him on ice the rest of the year and see what he can do next year when we have a better oline.
  7. I get the concept but at this point we dont have the luxury of drafting guys to purposefully let them sit. The only teams that are actually able to do that are teams that are already good. If we did draft Mac he would have been starting already getting his face smashed in.
  8. I hate these type of questions. But whatever. We are not ready for a rookie QB. Our team is not ready to help them develop. The pats went out and bought a new team over the offseason and was ready to plunk one in. We are not. We can 'David Carr' Bridgewater and Darnold because we are not long term committed to them. We cannot do that to a rookie QB that we intend to build around. 2022 - oline 2023 - QB we need to stick to the plan.
  9. You HAVE to take shots at QB's until you find them. Depending on what happens with Watson and the price I wouldn't be opposed at bringing in Tua.
  10. I think the plan has always been to build the team then plunk in the QB last. We have taken hail mary shots at the QB position but have not dedicated to a player. If they would work we would be years a head but I dont think the plan is to draft a guy until 2023.
  11. I honestly really respect what they're doing here. I think in general NFL coaches and executives take the safe option way too often. The Rams are showing no qualms about mortgaging the future, paying out the nose for talent, and cutting sunk costs.
  12. Ok sorry for misunderstanding. I get what you are saying. DJ and Robbie both look to be playing very uninspired. I just know that this summer or next we WILL get a QB and we have to have guys for him. That said, if we are not getting a QB this year then I would do what the Pats did. Spend the money on all the other positions and try to drop a QB in later - they just lucked into one this year.
  13. Yeah, your probably right. We should just let him walk and be stuck with Robbie...
  14. I agree. The DB made a good move get around him. There are good players on both sides of the ball...
  15. I get what your saying but he also won Rookie of the year that year, so 'average' is a bit of a stretch. .... man I miss that guy
  16. I dont think we can trade Robby with that contract. He looks so uninspired the return wouldn't be worth it. If we think Henderson is ok then I could see us trading AJ as long as the play in to resign Gilmore and Jackson. I dont want to trade for anyone at this point.
  17. I really dont want to defend Brady but is HE the actual problem? Looking at the PFF grades for our oline or the happy feet of Darnold. I dont think you can even properly evaluate either guy with how bad the blocking is right now.
  18. I would disagree with that. I dont think the plan was to draft a QB and build around him. I think the plan was to build a team and the last piece is the QB - which is why we didnt draft one this year KNOWING next year is not a good QB draft. I think they have taken shots on used QB's hoping to find one but I dont think that actually impacts the rebuild plan. I think the plan is that in 2022 we rebuild the oline and get draft capital for 2023. 2023 is QB time. IMO..
  19. Honestly we should not have a plan B. I dont want to run PJ out there and sneak out 2-3 more wins cause teams dont have game film on him. I think we need to live or die with Sam. Either Sam can fix himself (there is still time) or he doesn't and we tank and have a top draft pick.
  20. ha! I was kind of thinking the same thing. Negotiating 101 is never show blind interest. Tepper and Fitt are not dumb.
  21. Fields doesnt look very good right now. But had we drafted him we would have said he was good but our oline was bad. We would have basically doubled down on a mistake.
  22. First off, its a pretty wild statement that Tepper is 'Snyder-esk' so maybe just slow your roll unless you have actual allegations. Snyder is a garbage human. I think your just mad at Tepper cause he has not built a super bowl caliber team in 2 years. Secondly, there is no 'disagree' button so its the poo. In that case I poo on your post cause I think its a bad take.. Thirdly, Minshew actually had some very impressive stats. Considering the surrounding cast he had to work with he was pretty impressive. If we are throwing darts at QB, which is what we are doing, then he's not a bad player to take a shot on.
