  1. When this is your production and you have had Kyle Allen and Teddy B be your QB… you are an absolute stud.
  2. Simms final rankings that season had Allen Rosen Mayfield Jackson Darnold.
  3. I’ll blame his rankings this season on it being a covid year.
  4. I’d rather trade less away and get Minshew who has looked better than both Teddy and Darnold.
  5. While I get this sentiment it really matters what our new GM thinks of those players and weighs the cost of signing them be other people.
  6. PFF also had Fields last year as the best drop back passer and best deep thrower in the country. Even above Joe Burrow. That being said, Mac Jones was in the perfect situation to succeed and he did his job. I just don’t see him as a good NFL QB prospect.
  7. There really is no best. Every single one of them has tons of misses every year. Even the scouts suck. That’s why there are so many busts every year in the draft. You never really know until you get the kids in camp.
  8. Then don’t use him as a source of prospect rankings as you did
  9. Completely understandable. Like I said you were replying to a few people and I know when I’ve done that I’ve definitely gotten details mixed up between the replies. I do like Lance.
  10. Yeah I think I’ve told him a few times now hes been off topic about what I’ve written.
  11. I didn’t deny that he could go ahead of Fields. You keep quoting me talking about draft position while I’ve had to write, I believe three times now, I’m not arguing about draft positioning with these QBs. It’s like you’re arguing just for the sake of arguing. I feel like if I wrote that today seems like a nice day you’d quote me and tell me I’m somehow still saying X or Y player is going in front of Lance. Or maybe you’re so fired up over this you are quoting every reply here and not actually reading what’s being written.
  12. I did not claim he wasn’t getting drafted high. That’s not an argument I’m having.
  13. I haven’t made this argument at all. I’ve made the argument he isn’t McNair after playing football so little over the last three years.
  14. It’s proof he looks good when every player on his side of the ball has more talent the guy they are lining up against. For one year. He had an opportunity this year to be in a showcase game where he looked like hot garbage throwing. You don’t want to knock the bad part of his film? When you have such little film, every bit of it is fair game.
  15. The dude has played one year of football over the last three years. You can’t make the claim he’s some McNair clone after one year of football in three years. Especially when he’s on the best team in that league by far. They don’t lose.
  16. It only makes sense if they actually try to add a human being or some sort of entity that can catch passes and create separation.
  17. We can’t afford a guy who has now been a Pro Bowler at Left Tackle and Right Tackle while under a rookie contract. We would have to give up picks and then pay him franchise tackle money on top of it. We are drafting too high to pass on a QB this year. If we had a franchise QB already then sure go for it.
  18. Kiper also endorsed Justin Herbert. I’m sure the Chargers wish they passed on him now.
  19. If you can get a first round talent at 6th round prices you snag him and hope he makes it a few years without blowing up. If he flops you cut him for cheap. If he turns things around you have a good addition to your line for a few years before he can ask for big money.
  20. Vernon Davis had so much more potential in the pros but I never felt like San Fran looked his way enough. Surtain did a good job against Pitts not getting beat deep but then he got him on the touchdown pass. Too much of a size and verticals difference. Pitts was 225-230 coming out of high school and got up to 235 as a Freshman. He spent the last two years around 240-245. That is, if measurements are reliable but I don’t believe Florida has been guilty of not listing a kids proper height and weight. We’ve been in trouble for plenty of other things though. I’m with you, I’ve warmed up to the idea of getting a potential great player on the first round. The only ones that give me pause are the Trey Lance and Mac Jones mocks. And with Lance I can understand picking him but I have a lot of worries about him. Just about anyone else mocked to us I’ve seen the bright side in it.
  21. Look up the Alabama game this year. He went off receiving per usual but even people in the game day thread about it commented that he wasn’t having a difficult time blocking Bamas defenders and I’d wager a chunk of them are going pro. He’s almost 250 pounds right now. He’s so gifted athletically there’s nothing in my eyes that would prevent him from hitting 260 without losing his ability to cut or jump and that added NFL weight would help him block whoever is lining up over him. Vernon Davis was an absolute freak of a man. Look at his final season in 11 games and compare that to Pitts in 7 games. Of which he left 2 of those games before halftime. So in almost half the game time he gets almost as many yards as Davis and double his TD amount. This was truly remarkable productivity out of the TE spot the likes of college football has not seen in recent memory. And this was with everyone in the world knowing Pitts was the top guy at Florida going into this season. It just didn’t matter. He beat everyone all year. We struggled mightily in the red zone during his absence.
