Shaq's got a year left on his deal and will be 30 years old next year. I don't think he's in the team's long-term plans honestly. I think the bigger mistake would be adding years to that deal and pushing more of his money down the line for an aging LB at this point.

If a team is not going to give up at least a first round pick, CMC is not going to be traded. And I agree with that. From an ESPN Insider article posted this morning:

Trading CMC for some of the deals you see floated out there (PFF mentioned Bills sending a 2023 4th and a 2024 2nd) when trading him only nets Carolina $1.1m in cap space in 2023 makes no sense especially because none of his salary is guaranteed after this season. The biggest name I could see being moved at the deadline is Donte Jackson. Reasonable contract for a contender who needs secondary help to take on. We'd take a dead money hit on the signing bonus but free up space in 23.

No, it's $20m total dead money hit. We take $10.2m hit on this year's cap and $9.7m dead money on next year's cap. Free up $12m of 2023 cap space.

Cap wise, trading Robbie, extending Burns, and restructuring Moton and/or DJ will get us enough cap space to sign our draft class and make a move or two in FA.

I think we're on the hook for the prorated signing bonus ($9.8m) but the Cardinals have to assume the 2023 salary of $8.8m and non-prorated bonuses of $3.2m.
