Albert Breer: Panthers could "hold auction" for #33 pick
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Question from a person that is not great with stats: If the scouts suck, then isn’t it better to view a pick as an educated guess? And if that were true wouldn’t we have a better chance with more guesses? -
🚨Tony Pauline: Panthers interested in CB Mike Sainristril @33

Good one. That guy was entertaining and he won. Until people started taking them seriously then he was a little overmatched. I loved him though. -

I don’t know but if they make a team forfeit picks I believe they just bypass them. You might be picking 33rd though with only 30 players gone. -

Honestly, a 2025 1st that is only a few slots up isn’t that great when you have to wait for the payoff. Like, pick 25 of next year’s draft is pretty cheap to get #33 this year. I would wan t sometheng else this year along with it. OTOH if New England wanted to trade their #1 next year, I am betting that would be a pretty high pick.. -
Rd1 #32 That extra year option alone should impact a trade value chart, it seems like a large perk.

(to razor’s post) I don’t even what to say to that. I don’t understand watching that kid last year and not wanting to think that he accepts that as a representation of who he is (even if that IS all he is, you don’t want him accepting it). Edit and also, for sure every coach knows his players will hear or see if he says says something about them. So they make their comments with that in mind. It is the big mystery to me. Honestly I don’t see what anyone sees in our QB so tend to not believe a coach that praises him. Like a lot6 opf people, I don’t see how you can change his footwork to what others learn to do because he is so ass backwards with his drop, if you blueprint it you do nopt want what he does. Yet it seems integral to the way he is forced to play, due to his physical shortcomings. So what can you do? I think saying 2,7 seconds or under and don’t worry about how that happens, is about where Canales has found himself. -
I think it is reasonable to assume that sooner or later he will have done it wrong so many times that eventually he will have it right simply by never repeating a mistake. (I will take heart on this one: see drafting any more 5’barely10” QBs in our future?) So let’s toast that day- that far away in the distant future day. That I am pretty sure I won’t be alive to see.

100% of Panther fans should be wanting him to be working on things that he was weak at or could improve at, or just working on anything he can think of to make himself better at his job. It seems the disagreement is over whether or not fans are entitled to know the details. Why would anybody Not want to hear that he is working? It is true that no one is obligated to give us reports. But I think that if they are doing something to rehab their shortcomings and weak areas, it is a better idea to put that out there, than to say nothing. -
I had too much of them when it turned very mean spirited at some point. The way he was talking about Bryce detractors was on the level of real hate. Not just an argument.

Yeah, Mr ball cap radio sports expert is pretty bad. But he isn’t the worst, they put them in Charlotte. The Mac and Soup Bone duo are the whiniest homers that I have come across. It is outright Bryce homer erotica and woe to you if you disagree with them. It gets Mac very angry, to the point where if I could stand hearing them whine, I would troll the hell out of them every day.

That is my favorite Cam clip, by a lot. That is so great.

I I read that right it is the most thorough and comprehensive excuse package ever offered up for a Quarterback. Sounds like the Princess and the Pea. Only the best will do for Bryce! Absolutely, the team has let him down. It is so unfair. I guess we should be thankful for things that could have been blamed, but were not; Misogyny, which definitely should be on the table here. And of course Racism. I don’'t understand the omission. Maybe that’s a supply chain issue? You would think they would learn to order extra. Ands it seems like there would really have to be some type of phobia involved, out of the usual list of suspects. How can we not have phobias represented in this day and age? Maybe the coaches have a phobia against TEs? Yeah.... Could happen! They really just shouldn’t let him take the field until there are players on the roster worthy of stepping on the same field with him. -

Well, I’m hoping there is a real drop, plant and throw mixed in there. I’m seriously curious to see what they are going with in that 2.7 and under plan. -

Probably a decision made by his agent, for optics. Like the optics of bloat subbing for legit muscle at the combine. They know a lot of these teams are stupid when they are smitten with a prospect. Like a lonely guy that thinks he has found a girl that would take him. ediyt: 7 snaps. They had him under there a little after Reich was canned. -

I am sure those will be elements. OT a little but I went looking for some vid of his pro day, they have chopped up a lot of them withj different camera sources and angles and I did not find the one I used last year, didn’t have time to hunt it down. I forget right now why I was doing it. Some claim someone made probably and I wanted to see for myself. Okay I remember, it was Snow saying 55 yards I think. I never got to that. But I did see something I missed before which was on his pro day Young simulated being under center, turning his back to the “defense” and feigning a hand off along the way. I saw numerous examples one after the other. I am not sure what the point of doing it that way was but I think it was total window dressing meant to dispel some knocks. -

2.7 seconds. If he does that, it will be different. Not saying good or better, but yes different. -

You know that saying about the SH, that if it doesn’t get brought up, won’t be any IT? -
Matt Harmon & Charles McDonald on some tier 2 WRs & beyond.

I will give the organization points. Morgan is doing what looks like a real good job overall, we will see how the draft ball bounces. The offense is dysfunctional until I see it function. 26-0, 9-0. -

Still is. edit: He doesn’t need to gamble. IMO His arm strength did not afford him the edge he had against college guys and he knew it. He either figures it out or not but he does/did not have the margin he was used to. -

They felt he should have sat two weeks into last year, because his mechanics were so fuged. They thought it would take the offseason to fix them. Telling Tepper that poo about his expensive new shiny was tantamount to suicide. You don’t do that as your first option, or you don’t want to. You saw pieces of it if you looked - the casual, sauntering drop back is something everyone should remember. We were just talking about this in a little different context. Young is pretty majorly ‘different’ on a good day. Related to this, I am concerned not hearing anything about any remedial work being done on all that in the offseason. Did it go from bad enough to bench him and use the offseason to fix it, to no major concern? Guess so. But people say no news is good news.... so I trust it will all be better now that those bad linemen, slow receivers ands shitty coaches are gone. -
It's about that little birdie time in a few days

We are shut out of the first day, small potatoes. No one is talking to or about us. Bet we hear a lot overnight and all day Friday. -

Young has the short touch throws in his pocket. He will never have the drive the ball on a line for 30 yards type of juice. To almost ‘will’ it there just ahead of a closing defender? You hope he knows better. -
Yeah that came up not long ago. The pistol formation.... If Tepper agrees to bench Young, Reich is probably still here. I have said this before but advantage: Canales. He has no illusions nor surprises as to what he is signing up for, unlike Reich. And he will have had the entire offseason with the QB, the lay of the land is clear.
-
This season might really tell some truth. Last season, and the craziest sounding part: Reich wanted to wait and fix Young in the offseason.= I say Reich knew Young was bigly flawed but thought he had the processor and maybe it could make up for things somewhat. But nothing had really worked by, say, early August, and now you see the panic coming. I bet they tried everything they knew to try and none of it had helped. I now believe at that point the new plan they formulated was to get Young benched before too much damage happened. They might could save the season with Dalton,. but even if not they could maybe fix Bryce in the offseason and save him AND the team from what we witnessed. That would completely align with a plan to fix him in the offseason, and made it not seem like such a stupid thing. Don’t know why I never put that together sooner.
