  1. There are no big name OTs available. Hell, Oher is probably the biggest.
  2. If we believe in Matsko and Matsko believes in Oher, then I'm down. Matsko worked with him for two years in Baltimore. He should know what he's getting, assuming Oher clears all the medical checks.
  3. Agree, but the other side of that equation is that great ones rarely actually hit the open market. Dunlap was set to be the best one this year and he basically had one good year. The Chargers still locked him up before he hit the market. Who is available out there that you'd be willing to dedicate big money to get? I can't name one.
  4. Thing is that no player is going to sign a long-term contract with little guaranteed money. It'd be dumb on their part. "Prove it contracts" aren't just because teams don't want to do long-term deals with the player, but because the player doesn't want it either. Long-term deals involve decent guaranteed dollars. That's just the way it works.
  5. Oher had a rough year last year, but I think he was struggling with an injury issue. If healthy, he's better than Bell and of we can get him fairly cheap I'd be all for it. You're not gonna get a great LT in FA unless you're willing to PAY big time. Oher is about as good as we can expect to get. Bring him in and let him compete. Hopefully an early draft pick will be added as well. Let Oher, Remmers, and the rookie(s) battle it out to figure out starting RT and LT.
  6. Either the video doesn't actually exist or whoever has the video is trying to get PAID for it. If that's the case, Dez Bryant should be all over that.
  7. I'm not knocking him as a football player. I think he's a helluva football player, I just don't see him playing safety in the NFL.
  8. 12 sacks in the two games he missed. 19 total in the 13 games that he played.
  9. Look at Oregon stats in the games he played vs. the ones he didn't play. They're staggering. If Fisher is there at #25, I WANT HIM.
  10. That's not at all true in this case. This was all over ESPN because of his mom's battle with breast cancer and all that DeAngelo has done over the years to drive breast cancer awarenessawareness within the NFL.
  11. If it's true that sucks. If he's making it up, then that really sucks. Honestly don't know what to believe. On the one hand, it's tough to imagine no one from the organization reaching out to him when that happened. On the other hand, it's tough to imagine he'd lie about it.
  12. We can only hope. It would be AMAZING to pull off getting both of those guys back for appropriate market value. Good for them taking advantage of the Cards and Steelers who went full fuging retard with those contracts.
  13. I'm glad that he's not returning, because no matter who else we brought in, you know Rivera would give Bell every chance to retain his starting job. Rivera loved him some Byron Bell. I never hated Bell. I hated that we were forced to play him, but there was never any bad press about Bell. Every indication is that he is a good guy and gave his all. He just didn't have the talent to be a starting NFL OT. I would've liked to have kept him as a backup, but I know Ron would've wanted to play him and Dave probably did too. Hell, I hope somebody pays him way more than he's worth.
  14. I say make an offer right now. We know exactly how Ginn fits into our organization both on the field and in the locker room. Bring him in as a PR and give him a chance to compete at WR. I'd still look to draft another WR. The only change it would make for me is that I probably wouldn't be looking to double dip at WR now.
  15. If we added Ginn, I don't see the need for another vet. Draft me another one in the first three rounds and I'm willing to call the WR corps good to go.
  16. This entire safety class seems like hot garbage. I know everyone wants a 220+ pound safety, but how many guys at that size do it well at the NFL level? Seems like most of them just can't move fast enough. The Sean Taylors, Adrian Wilsons, and Kam Chancellors seem to be few and far between. Most guys that size are playing LB.
  17. We all knew it was coming. Still sucks, but it had to be done.
  18. Last year at this time I would've told you that there was no way we were going into camp with Byron Bell and Nate Chandler penciled in to start at OT. Damned if we didn't. Now I don't know what to think. I sure as hell hope our starting LT isn't currently on the roster, I do know that.
  19. In the measurable drills he didn't wow, but in the on field drills he was worlds above anyone else in his group. He's a plenty good athlete. He tested very similarly to TD across the board and TD is a helluva athlete.
  20. HS doesn't matter one bit. Hell, a ton of future NFL players played QB in HS simply because they were the best athlete available. A lot of HS teams do that. If you don't have a real QB, just put your best athlete back there and let him make plays. Same thing with RB. If you have a future NFL athlete on your HS roster, you want to find a way to get the ball in that kid's hands because it's gonna win you games.
  21. Did he play RB or did he come in just to carry the ball? What I mean by that is that there is a lot more to playing RB in the NFL than just carrying the football. Being able to pass protect is one of the key ones, especially if you have Byron Bell playing LT.
  22. Want. Right now, Fisher and Jaelen Strong are 1a and 1b on my wish list at #25. I'm leaning slightly toward Fisher just because I think a legit LT would be a HUGE difference maker for our team. But, I think Strong is a Dez Bryant clone, so I'd be just fine with that too.
  23. Speaking of DEs, I want Missippi State's Preston Smith some kinda bad. Dave Gettleman is gonna fall in love with this guy. If he's there in the 2nd, we're gonna take him.
  24. Probably so. I've just got "Eric" stuck in my head and can't shake it.
