  1. There comes a point where the money is just a way to keep score. More of it isn't going to do anything to change your lifestyle. Personally, I wouldn't want anything to do with L.A. but depending on your preferences it's very easy to understand why someone would choose L.A. over Charlotte. They're very different places and honestly, after living in CO for 14 years and coming back to NC this past summer, the weather here fuging sucks. Hot as balls with sky high humidity all summer and way too many gloomy days in the winter. People who race about Charlotte weather haven't lived somewhere with actual good weather. Yeah, it's better than Buffalo, but there's a lot of other places with a lot better weather.
  2. We were highly competitive in all but two games this season. Swap out Teddy for Stafford and I absolutely think we would've been in the playoffs hunt.
  3. I'm not even talking about location. I'm talking about team situations. The Rams are an elite QB away from being a SB contender. We're probably an elite QB away from competing for a playoff berth. There's a big difference.
  4. If this was the case we would've landed Stafford. We had a price we were willing to pay and when the bidding exceeded it we bowed out. Nothing wrong with that.
  5. Yeah, this worked out well for both parties. Stafford clearly wanted to be there and the Rams were clearly willing to do what it took to get him there. Now let's see if it works out on the field.
  6. You don't need a stacked roster but you do need a decent one and decent coaching helps too. It's weird how only the QB carries a W-L record. Stafford actually has a very good track record of 4th quarter comebacks. You can only do so much as a QB when you're up against more talented better coached teams week in and week out.
  7. Remember that stretch between '15 and '17 when the Browns only won four games over the course of three season? Yeah, that's how bad the Lions would've been without Stafford.
  8. Rams vs. Panthers? I mean, homerism aside that's an easy choice right now.
  9. That's why it won't be shocking if this goes from "we absolutely are not interested in trading the player in Houston to... *BREAKING NEWS* Deshaun Watson traded to (insert team here) in blockbuster deal *BREAKING NEWS*
  10. I think we're desperate and that both excites me and concerns me. It excites me that we're going to be aggressive trying to address the QB position this off-season. It concerns me that we may A) gut our roster to trade for Watson, B) gut our roster to trade up, or C) reach on a QB after we miss out on the run.
  11. He was a 7th round draft pick. If you make a final roster as a 7th rounder you were pretty much a successful draft pick.
  12. McClover made about a million dollars over the course of three years. That's a helluva lot more than I made in my first three years out of college.
  13. Has a star player in his prime ever publicly demanded a trade and there not been this period of stand off? Teams don't want to part with star players in their prime unexpectedly. Especially at QB. Even if he gets traded, this process is completely expected.
  14. No reason not to be right now. No trade can be made official for another month and a half, so might as well try to get (or force) Watson to change his mind in the meantime. It's not like they're going to need time and effort to drum up a trade market if and when the time comes.
  15. I think he will likely be traded but there's no guarantee.
  16. A) there's no guarantee that Watson will definitely be traded B) Watson will command a much richer trade haul than Stafford C) the Jets are reportedly Watson's preferred destination and it'll be very difficult for the Panthers to build a more attractive offer than they can
  17. Jets checked in. I never bought that they were sold on sticking with Darnold. I'm still not at all convinced they don't take a QB at #3.
  18. That game was a microcosm of his college career. Looked atrocious at times, but flashed tremendous talent at other times.
  19. The Rams reached out and were told to pound sand.
  20. I'm trying to figure out what I'm supposed to have a problem with in those tweets.
  21. If they passed on our #8, I have to think they're not gonna go after a QB in the draft. Being able to package #7 and #8 together would've been powerfully tempting for the Jets and/or Dolphins if they're sticking with their current QBs.
  22. What this tells me is that we're all in on upgrading the QB position this off-season. If the Watson talks get cranking we'll be in them. If we need to trade up in the draft, we'll be making calls. I don't know if anything will work out, but I'm confident we'll be trying.
  23. I can't see them taking on both of those contracts. Especially Shaq's. You're getting an elite player in CMC but overpaid non-pass rushing LBs who struggle in coverage aren't exactly an asset.
  24. There's a LOT of truth to this. Don't get me wrong, 1st round picks are VERY valuable, but due to our history I think Panthers fans have a skewed concept of that value because of how bad Hurney was in the mid-rounds. Everyone is throwing darts at the board in the later rounds, but you need to be filling out the meat of your roster with those mid-rounders.
  25. He's not a pass rusher and he struggles in coverage. He IS underperforming. You can find clean up tacklers at the LB position for cheap.
