  1. If by "supplements" you mean "steroids" and "short time" you mean the better part of a year then I agree.
  2. Me looking for all the Teddy Bridgewater fans.
  3. Even Jake disagrees with this. Jake was a borderline top 10 QB at his best. Cam Newton was the best football player in the world at his best. Love both dudes, but this is no contest. It's like trying to argue that someone other than Smitty is the Panthers best WR or someone other than Peppers is our best DE.
  4. Maybe. But the first step is getting there. The Bucs just won the SB as a wild card team.
  5. The defense got quite a few stops when the chips were down. Teddy never came through.
  6. All I'm saying is that literally every time Teddy had the chance to come through to deliver a tie or W he came up short. Ever. Single. Time.
  7. I really don't want to part with Brown or Burns. I'd try like hell to keep those two and Chinn off the table.
  8. A lot to like about the player, but he also has injury issues for days.
  9. How many games did we lose because Teddy couldn't deliver in crunch time?
  10. Yep. Another Teddy season is literally waving the white flag. The fans know it. The locker room knows it. Tepper and Rhule have said plenty to let everyone know that they know that Teddy isn't the guy. You can't go into next year with Teddy as your starting QB.
  11. Yep. If we're going draft, I'd prefer to try to trade Teddy for anything to get out from under his contract then sign a different vet. I just think that bridge between Teddy and the Panthers might be burned and I'm not sure that locker room vibe would be a great one.
  12. Yeah, honestly that's where I'm at. He's 3rd or 4th. Either way, PLENTY good enough to compete for SBs on a decent team.
  13. I don't really care where exactly you want to rank Watson among NFL QBs. All I know is he's up there. He's a legit MVP caliber QB. Hell yes I want him if we can get him. If we can't, then he was always overrated and the team that trades for him gave up way too much. Sorry, not sorry.
  14. Once Watson is officially traded, y'all have 24 hours to roast the poo out of @SizzleBuzz before I send him to the shadow realm.
  15. I get it. I'm just looking at a significantly more talented QB than Teddy at a significantly reduced price point.
  16. Insurance. You caught up on this backup idea. That's the plan IF everything else works out. Everything very well may not work out.
  17. I want no part of that option. If Teddy is back next year I'm out until we show that we're actually serious about trying to field a winning football team.
  18. I just don't see $8.5M as "big" at QB. Teddy was a middle of the road paid QB at 3 years/$63M/$33M guaranteed. I wouldn't want to give Trubisky anywhere near that but $8.5M? Sure. There's also a decent chance he shows enough to get signed elsewhere and then ends up factoring into the comp pick formula the following year.
  19. This kid gets it. He never played with TD or Olsen, but he gets it.
  20. I'm not sure that we know what he is. We know what he is under Nagy, but I'm not so sure that Nagy isn't another Gase. All I'm saying is that it's not difficult to imagine a scenario where Trubisky ends up being our best bad option or a decent stop gap for say a Trey Lance. If you draft Lance I don't think you can plan on him being your day one starter. Maybe he proves that he can, but I wouldn't want that to be the plan.
  21. Say what? He's clearly the tallest person in that picture.
  22. I wouldn't be viewing him as a backup. I'd be viewing him as 1) insurance against the draft not going out way and insurance to not feel the need to reach out of desperation and 2) insurance against feeling the pressure to force the rookie into action before he's ready. If he ends up being a backup that's awesome! Everything went according to plan. But you can't count on everything going according to plan.
