Anyone would choose one of this year's top QBs over Bryce. They have the intrigue of having not just spent an entire season on an NFL field not looking NFL caliber. Of course you'd choose door #2 over that.

Would it shock anyone if we hired Belichick and he just up and quit before the season? I could see him taking the podium and saying something to the effect of... "Look, I wanted another project before I called it quits. I wanted to help one of the worst franchises in the league right themselves. I always respected the Panthers. I won my first Super Bowl against them. When Ron Rivera was here with Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly they competed against us as well as any team in the league. But David Tepper is a fuging moron who refuses to be helped. I have six rings already. I don't need this. I apologize to Panthers fans but this isn't what I signed up for. This was not our agreement, so I'm resigning effective immediately."

I honestly think Belichick would only come here if he's stopped caring about winning and potentially adding to his legacy and is just looking to ride off into retirement with the biggest bank account possible. Honestly, if I was him I'd just retire before coming to the Panthers. He's gotta already have way more money than he'll ever need.

They've already landed a very promising GM candidate. They have going for them what we had going for us a few years ago. Namely the intrigue of a new owner who might end up being good. Now we have the opposite situation. The proven worst owner in the league. We aren't getting candidates that other teams want unless Tepper is willing to pay them WAY more and even then it's unlikely to matter because he'll meddle them to death anyway.

As a neutral fan I love Josh Allen same as I loved Favre. Simply because you know it ain't gonna be boring. Be it amazingly great or hilariously awful it ain't gonna be boring.

Harbaugh to meet with Chargers next week, Raiders also interested

It has always been said he had a west coast bias. -
What a gut punch for Washington. You lose the national championship game then you lose the coach that took you there. How quickly that fanbase went from the highest of the highs two weeks ago to the lowest of the lows.

NFL's top plays from Bryce Young in 2023

We wasted a #1 overall pick we traded substantial assets (including what became this years #1 overall pick) to acquire on Bryce Young. -

Gonna be honest, just not seeing a lot of super intriguing matchups there.

This is where I think Tepper initially got himself astray. He was so obsessed (and might still be) with building a "winning culture". You know how you do that? By winning. By running a competent football organization that the coaches and players believe in. This isn't the Field of Dreams. This isn't "if you build it they will come". You can't will yourself and hire and fire yourself to a winning culture. Just focus on building a competent football organizations and the wins will come and the "winning culture" will take care of itself organically. You can't put the cart before the horse. You can't create a winning culture before you achieve football competence.

Competency. The Panthers lack competency. And it's because David Tepper is football incompetent yet demands on ultimately running the show. These are the results.

Belichick got derailed by a noodle armed Bama QB. He ain't signing up for round two of that unless he just wants that Tepper retirement check.

Colorado went 1-8 in the Pac-12 and people think he's gonna be on Alabama's radar to replace Nick Saban? LOLOLOLOLOL
-
Smart already is IMO

Definitely bad timing for Clemson. Dabo ain't feeling the love in Clemson. If Bama wants him he's almost certainly gone.
-
It's the Tepper model. He's in charge and everyone else just says "yes sir, great idea sir". The ones who don't get fired. Eventually you get fired anyway because he needs new fall guys.
-
Tepper keeps trying to buck the NFL model and keeps failing miserably. He's the laughing stock of the league.
-
Nothing has changed. Tepper is still retaining his same control. He's already said as much without realizing it letting it leak that they're focusing on the coach first then the GM. Same poo, different day. You hire a GM first and let the GM hire the coach. That's the way this poo works in functional organizations. But this is Tepper's poo show and he refuses to learn. Once again we'll have a GM and a head coach neither on the same page, both reporting directly to Tepper, and a junk show of a roster and product on the field. This is what we're going to be as long as Tepper insists on being the man in charge of a football organization when he evidently knows less about my wife whose involvement in football consists of her rolling her eyes at me watching it.
-
Yep. The only mistake he's ever made is trusting the wrong people. He'll get it right this time. Again and again and again. I just hope he gets sick of making an ass out of himself eventually and sells the team or fugs completely off on the football side of the house. My level of interest is in the shitter. At least in years past we were looking at the top of the draft the following year by Halloween. He robbed us of even that this year with his trade for his super processor. This is just complete ass.

This is easily the most depressing time in franchise history to be a Panthers fan. It feels utterly hopeless.
-
Yep, sounds like a poo show.
-
The Carroll thing is weird. He just recently said he wanted to keep coaching. He's a helluva coach. And he's going to stay in the organization in a non-coaching role? That's going to be a really weird dynamic. I hope it's not something healthy related driving this.

Nice article from The Ringer about search firm Sportsology

Just give them an S2 test with an XBox. We need more super processors! -
I don't mind him being about his money. I just wish he'd gone out there this year with a chip on his shoulder to prove that he deserves the type of contract that he wants. I mean, you always hear about guys who only show up on payday years but Burns didn't even do that. It's even more frustrating because IMO freeing him up and maximizing his talents was the primary driver in the defensive scheme switch and then he just flat out no shows in the second half of the year. While talking about wanting to be one of the highest players in the lig. Bruh, just go on and GTFO of here with that poo.
