  1. I hope not. It's good that they're 1-3 and needing some positive soon on this season. Should all add up to making a real statement today. Unless they start playing the cheerleaders after half 70 feels like a given.
  2. I hope Clemson puts up 100. I think they can.
  3. UNC is straight up gaping open asshole. No sugarcoating it. This has to be the worst power conference team in the country.
  4. He doesn't understand talent evaluation he didn't at the NFL level either. Undeniably good coach but undeniably an unbelievably atrocious evaluator of talent. He just needs to be a coach and have absolutely nothing to do with assembling a roster but good luck convincing his ego of that. We're cooked for the foreseeable future.
  5. I don't think we can afford to both buy him out and hire a replacement. We're fuged for the next couple years. I said going in that this was an absolute book or bust move but it's an even bigger bust than I could've imagined. This is late stage Bunting/Fedora level terrible and we're just getting started. If the Heels are as good as expected on the hardwood this year and Hubert gets the bball program rolling again this might be the nail in the coffin for football in UNC. Good luck getting the boosters to go all in on football again after this.
  6. I have Ram's Club suite tickets for two upcoming games and I'm just not going. No point in throwing good money after bad to drive 6 hours round trip to see this.
  7. UNC has put some awful defenses on the field but this one is the worst. Clemson has been bad this year and we're making them look like USC in the Leinart/Bush era.
  8. UNC's offense actually looks functional with Gio Lopez out of the way. Are those two supposed top 10 pick DLs playing today for Clemson? If they are they're complete frauds. If that's not DPI then WTF is? That announcer is high. Coverage is really easy if you can just ride a receiver out of bounds with the ball in the air. Settling for three there is not the right decision. Gotta go on 4th and 1 inside the 20 when your D is trash.
  9. Jordan Shipp is a player. Sucks he's stuck on this team.
  10. Oh, Richardson has a MUCH higher talent ceiling. That's for sure and was always obvious. I was out on Richardson the minute he asked to come out of the game because he was tired and I think the Colts were too. They probably should've just traded him for whatever they could've gotten at that point.
  11. Basically Bill Belichick is a really shitty GM. He was a shitty GM in the NFL and he's being a shitty GM in college. As soon as good aging vets were no longer willing to come play for a discount to chase a ring after they chased Brady off all the years of poor drafting got exposed and they targeted and paid a bunch of guys who just aren't power conference caliber starting players. We brought in a bunch of guys to start that other power conference teams were looking at as depth pieces.
  12. Yeah, he's a tough evaluation. He obviously has all the physical tools but is he an NFL QB? So much of the evaluation is going to come down to the interview process and that's the part of the process that we have no insight into beyond the rumor mill. For every Josh Allen there's probably a dozen Anthony Richardsons and you have to use that interview process to figure out who's who. Now Sellers is a better passer at this stage than either of those guys were, but you get what I'm saying
  13. I'm on the fence about Sellers. I wish SCar had a better OL to give him more of a chance but I don't know. I'm not out on him but I'm definitely not sold either. I expect him to enter the draft next year because someone will take a chance on his talent in the 1st but I'd honestly prefer he play another year of college and hit the portal and find a better situation. Or for SCar to hit the portal and build an OL.
  14. I'm worried about next year's QB crop but I'm not in panic mode about it yet. There's still time for some guys to stand out.
  15. He might carve out a long career as a backup but not as a top backup. I would bet a lot of money you'll never see Bryce have a game like Mac Jones had on Thursday night. Plenty of guys carve out long careers by being decent enough while being great teammates. I think that's the path Bryce is staring down.
  16. Top 6? I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't think Bryce has the potential to become a top 6 backup.
  17. He's talking about this year's draft as in the guys who are currently rookies, not next year's draft.
  18. Yeah that's why I don't put any stock into the Combine max velocity figures. All that matters is how well you generate velocity in game situations. I don't care how hard you can throw when you have all day and wind up like a baseball pitcher. It's just not relevant to an actual football game. Kirk Cousins threw the ball 10mph faster at the Combine than Lamar Jackson. Cousins (and Goff too for that matter) was right up there with Allen and Mahomes in terms of max velocity. Does that show up on an NFL field?
  19. I get the call to go for it. The bitch of coaching is that when you make these calls you're brilliant if it works out and you're a jackass if it doesn't and everyone's going to second guess it. It's is what it is. I get that he's expecting his OL to be able to create a yard there but at the same time it's also basically your weakness against their strength. The part I disagree most with honestly was the decision to go out there and bark to try to create the false start then calling a timeout and putting your offense back on the field. Now you've shown your hand. Now they know you're going. You can't call back to back dead all timeouts and you're not backing your FG kicker up so you're going. I agree with trying to create the false start but I don't think you call a timeout and then out your offense back out there. If that's your plan you gotta kick. When Stafford started walking off with still several seconds left in the play clock I honestly thought they were gonna do something sneaky like a direct snap to the RB or the RB running up under center and basically doing a tush push style play. I don't like calling the timeout and putting your offense back there with the D now knowing you're gonna go.
  20. If Bryce was efficient it wouldn't matter. The issue with Bryce is that he both can't push the ball down the field and he can't be efficient. That leaves your offense stalled out because the defense is choking you to death.
  21. Yeah, I think part of the reason that Bryce has an issue with missing high is that anytime he has traffic in front of him he's having to loft the ball up and over that traffic
  22. What I mean is that of course you'd be best off building a great offense AND a great defense, but that's almost impossible to pull off in a hard cap league and is definitely impossible to maintain. You're not going to be able to afford to keep everyone even if you're knocking the draft and free agency out of the park and turning them into stars. Then you gotta pay 'em.
  23. I mean, sure. Assembling a roster of All-Pros sounds like a good idea. It's just tough to do.
  24. Like playing Super Tecmo Bowl growing up and the entire D just gang tackles your ball carrier immediately because they correctly guessed your play call. LOL
