Good lord, you are absolutely obsessed with that man. Somehow everything has to circle back to Deion Sanders.

Deebo looks cooked

They won't learn that. Just like they never learned that paying highly drafted rookies like future HOFers was dumb.
-
They never learned on that one. They had to change the CBA but that was a chance that all current members benefitted from since limiting rookie money meant more cap available for them. A max contract stipulation would have to be written into the CBA to fix the current problem.

I don't care about arbitrary passer ratings that are completely derived from stats. When I watch them play there's a lot of guys I would take over Purdy. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Stafford, Goff, Love, Herbert, Hurts, resurgent Wilson, it's early but I've seen enough from Daniels and Maye to take them over Purdy and push come to shove is probably take Nix too. I mean, yeah... he's basically a middle of the pack type starting QB.

Yep, the Niners built a great team around a solid QB on a rookie contract. The Chiefs are just a dynasty right now. The NFL has to learn that you can't pay average to above average starting QBs like they're franchise QBs. You just can't. You pay franchise QBs to carry your team. Those guys a step or two or three behind can't do that but paying them forces them to get and the results aren't pretty. You got a let them walk.

Did they give up on Yetor Gross-Metos to soon?

He's a rotational level player who has a random great game. At least Kony Ealy ha his random great game in the Super Bowl. -
Those would be the days of Julius Peppers. Peppers carried Sims and that became evident in the NFL. Don't get me wrong, he was a very good college player but he was a mid-round pick talent who looked like a top 10 picks with the opposing OL having to account for #49. The frustrating thing to me is that our D has often looked pretty decent for a game or two but ultimately the wheels just fall off and when they fall off they fall the fug OFF. Once the struggles start they just don't stop and we start getting absolutely gashed week in and week out.

I really want to see this defense get a lot better. Our complete inability to stop stop the run paired with an unbelievable ability to blow coverages and have receivers streaking wide ass open down the field is just infuriating. We had elite offenses during the Howell and Maye years and we could've really made some noise if we just had a serviceable defense.

Total punt fest tonight. Seven 1st quarter punts. Rams failed to manage a single 1st down in the opening quarter.
-
Decent game tonight with significant playoff implications. Puka Nacua just pulled off another absurd catch then Stafford threw what absolutely should've been an INT on 3rd down. DB had a hand in a cast or that may have been a pick six.

He was an atrocious GM and yet still took a Mac Jones QB'd team to the playoffs. The wheels fell off in the third season after Brady left because, well... again, Belichick was a terrible GM and having Brady and a long line of aging ringless vets willing to play on a discount to chase a ring covered for his years of bad drafting.

Don't worry, he'll jump off the wagon the the next time UNC loses a game just like he did when Colorado lost to Nebraska in the first game of the season.

Holy poo

Let's keep it contained here

He's on.

here's the link I'll update when it goes live

It'll get VERY interesting if Max Johnson enters the portal. Mack Brown's promises have left the building.

Our defense has been underperforming for a decade. The overall talent level is significantly higher than the results on the field. I'm not saying they're a top tier defensive roster, that's just not accurate. But they're also nowhere near being bottom of the barrel and that's what they've been in the field.
-
Introductory presser coming up at the top of the hour. There's an NFL football game on tonight with significant playoff implications and UNC football is going to be the biggest sports story of the day. That is fuging WILD.

If Cignetti was younger he would have some absolute powerhouse programs after him.
-
Sounds like all of our portal guys are pulling their names out until they can talk to the new staff. I have a friend in Greensboro who has a lot of local sports connections and used to work for ESPN. There's a certain 5* 2026 QB committed to an SEC team who is evidently ready to flip on a dime to Carolina when Carolina really wasn't even in the running for him during his recruitment.
-
Oh, I'm fully aware of the potential ways this flops hard
-
You don't see any path for this to work out? You seem a bit shook. LOL
-
I just honestly have no clue how Belichick will translate to recruiting. I can see that situation playing out either way. Everything about this hire is boom or bust IMO. We're about to become a powerhouse or a clown show. Can't really see much room for gray area in between. This is either really gonna work or really spectacularly flop.
