  1. Yep. If we can't trade for a QB we're probably going to have to trade up.
  2. If history is any indication, at least one of these guys is gonna flat out bust and another will probably come far short of expectations. I LOVE Wilson, but at the end of the day maybe Wilson is the bust. If I had to bet money with a gun to my head though, I'd bet on Fields being the bust and it's because of what Verge pointed out - he's wildly inconsistent in his play and unlike Cam who could also be inconsistent, Fields while being a very good athlete isn't a Cam type of athlete who can simply take over a game with athleticism when he had to.
  3. I find it difficult to believe that Houston would be interested in Teddy, but it could very well be a reason why we're hanging onto him.
  4. We already don't have a QB and we've made it no secret that we are desperate.
  5. That's what I have to assume. I really do think we've seen the last of him in a Panthers jersey. I think that bridge is smoke and ashes.
  6. If anyone is calling offering literally anything for Teddy, his ass should be GONE.
  7. Really hoping Snyder hangs on. As long as he's there the WFT is basically a non-contender.
  8. I sure hope so, but hope is all I've got because I can't point to any solid supporting evidence.
  9. A new thread for this? One of the other dozens of Watson threads couldn't suffice?
  10. It's tough to read much into it from the outside. Might be something to it and it might be that Apple really was just mailing it in. I mean, he is a former top 10 pick who has bounced around the league who has been called a cancer by former teammates and no one came calling when we cut him.
  11. Two sacks in seven games. He had his moments. We all know how difficult it can be for rookies to get on the field under Rivera. He could be capable of much more than we realize... or not. We'll see.
  12. Honestly I'd almost forgotten about him. Looking forward to seeing him back and seeing what he can do.
  13. He's supposed to be very good but it's gonna take a LOT to be better than Howell.
  14. If I had to trade him, I'd be trading him to the NFC unless an AFC team was willing to just blow everyone else's doors off
  15. I have hopes for UNC. Howell is the real deal and we just got a commitment from another big time prospect.
  16. Without Watson forcing himself out of Houston there's no way it would happen. Even if he does there are other teams better position to make the deal if they want it.
  17. Drafting Jones in the first two rounds is overdrafting him IMO. He's likely an NFL backup. Everyone wants to make Brady comparisons to which I say there's a reason why Brady was a 6th round pick. And Brady's arm at 40+ is about equal to Jones' at 22.
  18. It's almost like you didn't watch the Panthers play this year. Stop watching the results of college plays/games and thinking it directly translates to the NFL because it worked in college. Oh yay! Mac Jones just completed a 50 yard pass for a TD! He's amazing! Nevermind that the WR had the CB beat by ten yards but nearly had to come to complete stop allowing him to nearly catch up then simply out-motored the physically out-matched CB to the endzone.
  19. Watch his passes vs. Burrow's and stop being emotional. Burrows hit dudes in stride. With Jones, those receivers are generally having to slow down and/or make other adjustments. That gives NFL DBs time to recover. There aren't going to be many times where you're open by ten yards in the NFL like those Bama WRs were.
  20. Jones is throwing more often than not to dudes that are wide open. The downfield throws usually aren't that great. They basically look like Teddy's, NFL DBs just have a lot better recovery ability than college DBs.
  21. He's basically a less athletic Teddy but has the guts to throw the ball more than ten yards down the field.
  22. Goff and Cousins are the comparisons I keep coming back to as well, but I honestly think both are still considerably more athletic than Jones. Jones is basically a pure pocket passer with a below average arm. That doesn't seem like the makings of a starting NFL QB to me.
