  1. I found it funny how many people were hollering about that pick talking about how Shedeur threw for 4000 yards and 37 TDs seemingly oblivious to the fact that Dillon Gabriel has put up some of the biggest numbers in college history. The guy has nearly 19k yards and 155 TDs. If you want to use the college stats argument for Shedeur you definitely don't wanna use it to go up against Dillon Gabriel.
  2. At this point I honestly don't think it would be shocking. I do wonder how many draft boards he's simply not even on. Evaluated as backup caliber, brings a full three ring circus of distraction with him... yeah, nah we're good.
  3. No. You don't want a backup QB that brings a full circus to town with him. That's the big reason he's tumbling. I think teams evaluate him as a likely backup and no one wants to deal with BS from a backup QB whether the BS is intentional or not. That's why Kaepernick, The Golden Calf of Bristol, late career Cam, etc. never latched on anywhere. If you're the backup QB you're expected to be out of sight, out of mind.
  4. I'm cool with both trades. Feels like we got good value. Now we have to wait and see if we got good players.
  5. I'm not for overly relying on number crunching and bean counting but we have been undeniably drafting horribly for years now so I'm not going to complain about trying a new approach that's for sure.
  6. I sure hope they're right. But it's also worth noting that our head analytics guy is the former head analytics guy at PFF so our moves are always going to have a high chance of being viewed well by PFF. We're probably using a lot of the same metrics.
  7. A QB with 150+ TDs and nearly 20k passing yards barely got drafted in the 3rd and the narrative was that it was absurd he got drafted over Sanders while people pointed to Sanders' stats. This stuff is absurd. Y'all bought into a hype train. St this point in the draft the NFL is shopping for backup QBs and they don't want drama out of them. That's why Shedeur is toxic.
  8. The message is one already known. The NFL doesn't want drama and distractions from backup QBs. The Golden Calf of Bristol, Kaepernick, late career Cam... we've seen this play out before. If you're not a starter you can't come with drama and/or distractions.
  9. Yeah, a few actually. Danny Stutsman, Barrett Carter, Jeffrey Bassa, Jack Kiser
  10. He's already gone. I'd take Will Howard all day everyday over Sanders.
  11. He's really not though. His accuracy is pretty average and his timing is bad. Y'all got sold a Deion hype machine media narrative.
  12. He can't make all the throws in the NFL. He won't have Travis Hunter out dueling two DBs to catch wounded ducks at the next level.
  13. What traits does he have that are above NFL average? What about his playing style do you see that translates. I've been telling y'all the guy projects as an NFL backup but with a ton of bullshit. NFL teams don't want to deal with bullshit from backup QBs
  14. Stop falling for media narratives y'all. LOL
  15. What trait does he have that's above NFL average? The talent narrative was driven by the Deion hype machine. He's a good college QB that doesn't have the physical talent or playing style to translate to the NFL. These types of guys fall to the mid to late rounds every year. It's only a massive shock this year because his last name is Sanders and the Deion hype machine has been in overdrive for him.
  16. We have to come out of this draft with a DT. This is the deepest DT draft in recent memory. We got a come away with one. Don't force anything at FS. We double dipped at EDGE instead. It is what it is. Just sign a bandaid off the waiver wire during roster cuts.
  17. The Deion hype machine grossly skewed expectations for this kid.
  18. The Pats are putting together a nice draft for Drake Maye.
  19. Daddy issues, mediocre physical talent, a playing style that doesn't translate well to the NFL (Kiper calling him a prototypical pocket passer but he actually holds the ball forever, is late on throws, and tries to use his subpar athleticism to buy time), and the ego. I'm surprised he lasted this long simply because I thought an owner would step in to get the publicity but from a pure talent projection standpoint vs. baggage... And now homeless man's Bryce Young goes ahead of Sanders. LOLOLOL
  20. Me too. But it's still just one less option for us.
