As they should. How in the hell did the NFL not make that a primetime game? That was a serious scheduling mistake.

I think CMC's likely value is somewhere around a 2nd round pick. Which is why I'd be trying to get a 1st out of the Bills. That pick is likely to be at or near the very bottom of the round. I'm treating their 1st like a 2nd and their 2nd like a 3rd. I need more than their 2nd. They need to sweeten that pot a little and not with a RB that I don't really want.

Interesting info about Wilks at Arizona
LinvilleGorge replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why would they? What's to gain for them? Honestly if I was in that organization at the time and was asked about it I would just say there were divided opinions within the organization and I can't really recall who was saying what. Lots of things get said in the discussions leading up to every draft. How am I supposed to recall specific positions held by people years ago? I got my own poo to deal with. -

How would you verify it? Of course anyone a part of that dumpster fire will claim that yes, Wilks wanted Allen or Lamar and so did I! McAdoo will undoubtedly claim that he wanted nothing to do with Baker and was actually lobbying for something entirely different. -

Not sure I buy it. Of course a coach is going to claim he didn't want the bust and actually wanted one of the guys who turned out really good. Also, criticizing teams for not trading up to get a guy isn't necessarily a legit criticism. Who's to say trading up was even an option? The Bills may not have been willing to come off that pick or at least not without an absolutely absurd asking price. -
I'll have our game on one TV and the Bills/Chiefs on the other. I'm not missing that game. Should be one of the best regular season games of the year.

I don't think Schefter realizes the point he's making here. The point is don't pay RBs. Let them walk and draft another one.
-
No, I get it. I don't think Washington is trading him for anything less than a ridiculous offer so it's kind of a moot point anyway. If your QB sucks and you have a rookie who has shown promise in preseason you'd be crazy to trade him for anything less than a ridiculous offer.
-
Nor should we. But we should definitely be listening to offers and CMC, Robby, and Shaq would be the three players I'd be most interested in moving.
-
Oh, I think there's zero chance they're trading Howell outside of an absolutely stupid offer.
-
Evidently the Packers were offering a 6th. I honestly think I'd take any draft capital over Akers who is basically at this point a disgruntled bust of a former 2nd round pick. Collecting other teams' draft busts has worked out predictably for us.
-
I'd literally rather have a later mid-round pick (say a 5th) for Robby. Why would I want a RB who has less than 1000 total yards in his career that's now in it's third year? You can sign guys like that off the street.

Pick a QB. If he sucks, pick another one. Keep swinging until you get a hit. -
Well, this would be really dumb. Which means it's something the Panthers are highly likely to do.

Star aligning for a win and the PJ meme to continue
LinvilleGorge replied to CRA's topic in Carolina Panthers
The Rams have been struggling and are in desperate need for a "get right" game. Fortunately for them, they play the Panthers this weekend. -
I sincerely hope we don't do that as desperately as I want a 1st round QB. If the right QB is there, absolutely draft him. But don't force it. Let's say you think there's three franchise QBs in the draft and you're sitting at #4 and they go #1-#3 and you tried to trade up and got rebuffed. You can't draft a QB in that situation just to check the box.
-
This. We absolutely should not pass on good QB prospects because of Matt Corral. He's on a cheap rookie contract so he's going to have every opportunity to earn a roster spot. Have I given up on him? No. Do I hold very little hope for him becoming a high level NFL starting QB? Yes, that would be extremely fair to say.
-
This is just hilarious. I've said over and over that it'll be awesome if Corral proves to be the answer I just think it's a very, very long shot. You've always done this stuff. Get ridiculously emotionally attached to your own opinion and then double and triple down and mock any other opinion and refuse to actually engage like a rational adult. That's why I just treat you as entertainment. You don't act like someone who wants to be taken seriously.
