  1. We'd be hiring a minority candidate. How would we be violating the Rooney Rule requiring minority candidates to be interviewed by literally HIRING a minority candidate? I get that a lot of rules can have some truly dumbass fine print involved but that one would take the cake.
  2. Wilks with a new OC very well might be our best option. I really don't see guys with other options lining up to coach for David Tepper and I don't see him spending lavishly again to outbid everyone else after having that approach blow up in his face last time around.
  3. 7 total attempts 5+ yards beyond the LOS (and two of those were 6 yards). Only 4 10+ yards. The entire offensive game plan is basically "don't let Sam Darnold throw the game away".
  4. And hell, even if you draft Anthony Richardson signing a guy like Minshew as a bridge/mentor wouldn't be a bad idea. You don't want to be forced to play a guy like that until he's truly ready.
  5. I'm super intrigued by Darnell Washington. His measurables are off the chart and he's shown tremendous flashes. UGA just has so many weapons he kind of gets lost in the mix. But in a way it almost helps him as a prospect because unlike most college TEs he's going to come into the draft ready to go as a blocker. Most of these college TEs these days are basically just jumbo slot WRs.
  6. Bingo. I'm not trying to throw Matt Corral out with the garbage but based on what I saw you're making a real long shot bet counting on him for anything.
  7. You gotta act like Corral doesn't exist in terms of forming next year's roster. If he flourishes, awesome! Great unexpected bonus. If he keeps on sucking, oh well. We tried. But luckily we weren't relying on him for anything anyway so whatever. Keep it moving.
  8. If Richardson is there, roll the dice. If he isn't, I wouldn't hate this. But at some point we have to take that leap. We can't keep always pushing it off to next year.
  9. I really like the top TEs in this draft. You have Mayer who is an elite prospect by any measure. Then there's Washington who has all-world potential but not a ton of production. Kincaid is a really good prospect and might be the #1 TE available in some draft. Luke Musgrave isn't far behind them.
  10. It was crazy. I said he was a 3rd round prospect. I thought the same about Pickett. I thought both projected as high end backup/marginal starters at best. Basically you're really happy to have them as a backup but if they're starting for you, you need a QB.
  11. Yep. He doesn't have the traits wow factor so showing he can translate to a higher level in the college game would bode well for him. Recently guys like Kenny Pickett and Mac Jones have gone in the 1st round despite having marginal at best NFL talent simply because they put up big time stats against high level college competition.
  12. So just stay at Coastal Carolina then. He'll face more future NFL competition in a P5 conference. It's really just that simple.
  13. There's a handful of folks who have been banned over and over again. They never change.
  14. The Bucs are basically us. The only difference is that they actually capitalized on their two shots.
  15. I haven't watched a full game in months. Meanwhile, you're wasting your time following me around on this forum being mad and that's genuinely hilarious.
  16. Sad. He was a true innovator of the game. Leach was on of the guys who built the foundation of the modern college offense and the modern NFL offense looks a lot more like a college offense than the standard "pro style offense" of yesteryear.
  17. Imagine being personally affected by a stranger's differing opinion on sports on the internet, then calling that person a crybaby. Nice self own, buddy.
  18. I honestly think it's fool's gold. We've beaten the Falcons (terrible). The Broncos (terrible). The Ravens (reeling, 1-3 over their last 4). The Seahawks (reeling, 2-3 over their past five with all three losses being to teams with losing records). Even with our offensive game plan entirely built around decreasing Sam Darnold's ability to lose games for us, that multiple turnover game is coming. We all know it.
  19. I'm pretty much all in on Anthony Richardson at this point. Go big or go home. Take a swing on the boom or bust guy with the highest ceiling in the draft. Yeah, he very well may bust. If he does, swing again. But when you're mired in mediocrity you have to take chances. Taking a "safe" QB is just asking for more perpetual mediocrity. Stroud and Young are going to be out of reach. Hell, depending on the interview process Richardson very well may be too.
