  1. I would give odds the mob owns the Raiders by now. Mark Davis is a desperate man. Desperate men do desperate things.
  2. I'm looking forward to looking like a team of nfl professionals running a modern nfl system instead of a bunch of amateurs trying to run a college system in the nfl.
  3. If it's as tight lipped as the coaching hire we may not know what they are thinking until draft night.
  4. I've never been this interested in a coaching staff hire in my life.
  5. If you want Stroud you've got to trade with the Bears. Huston is taking Stroud.
  6. That's why I think we won't know until after the draft what direction they will go. They will not want to tip their hand either way. Say for instance they sign Carr. That will probably signal that they are not looking to draft a qb in the 1st unless a great prospect falls in their lap. If they sign Brissett or someone like Sam for instance that likely means they are looking to be players for a qb in the first and will be looking to trade up. It's going to be a poker game until draft night and we have some aces in the building.
  7. It sure is one hell of a better start than with that other guy that I refuse to call by name.
  8. The only way we could get Stroud is to make a trade with the Bears. If the Bears can't get a trade down (which I think that is what they really want) they will go defense. Huston takes Stroud. After that it's anyone's guess.
  9. I agree. If he's available after the draft and we come away without a 1st round rookie then I think they may kick the tires. But no, we are not looking in that direction.
  10. We also have a safety net if he were to get fired or resign. There is lots of potential head coaches already on staff to promote.
  11. He's there to help them identify leaders. To identify the guys who are me first types so the team will know what they are getting if they draft or sign them. That's a pretty good thing to know before you throw a ton of cash and responsibility at a player.
  12. Well, if you want to develop minority coaches on the offensive side of the ball to become head coaches you've got to start somewhere. The Panthers are doing just that. If someone is complaining about that then they are complaining just to complain.
  13. Post away man. No disrespect intended. Just saying that it will not matter much with this staff. They will be well versed in many different schemes that there will not be a set approach. The schemes will be an opponent specific approach for that game. Just enjoy the forest being assembled and try not to focus so much on a couple of trees.
  14. Who cares? These cats can run anything they want to run. Hell they can make up something you've never seen before. Don't sweat the small stuff.
  15. The Panthers are not trading for Lamar folks. You might as well save your energy for arguing about something that actually may happen.
  16. That would certainly make our home game with the Saints worth the price of admission.
  17. I didn't say they would pull it off. Just saying that it's a great approach.
  18. And that's the way it should be with a winning program. Identifying and developing the best young coaches is as important as identifying good football players. You are building an organization, a real professional football team.
  19. Tell that to Bucky Brooks. He has Hooker rated ahead of Levis and AR. It's a long way to draft night. Anything can happen.
  20. Here's a hypothetical for you. What if the Panthers use the 9th pick on Hooker? Would that be considered taking a shot on a 1st round pick qb? Throw out your recency bias from this past season.
  21. Let someone else sign him.
