  1. Personally, I get the appearance that the WR position is a need, but I do not see where it exceeds the need for a CB or Edge rusher (OLB). TMJ was not developed well here, and when he was used in the second half of 2022, he showed signs of progress. He had nearly 500 yards during that time. Shenault was horribly misused last year. During his first 2 seasons at Jax, he averaged over 600 yards. Here, his numbers were cut in half (272). We added Chark and Thielen, and Smith was a developmental rookie. If we get the most out of TMJ (he has shown that he is capable of a season in the 800 yard range, and Shenault (also shown to have the ability to get 800 yards) and then there are 2 added WRs who are established veterans, I do not see the urgency to splash into this draft looking for the future #1. Chark may be a rental, but we will have room under the cap to find a WR 1 if needed. Not many teams have an ideal roster, and with the addition of a receiving TE, the productivity we lost in Moore should be replaced quite easily--and then some. Just my 2 c
  2. We signed 3--Anderson, Williams, and Tuttle. We currently have Brown, McCall and Roy--I think we will use YGM in the DE position on passing downs, so there is that too (possibly)
  3. The answer is hidden in plain sight. When asked, "Bryce, when do you think you will be drafted, he holds up 2 fingers, indicated that he thinks he will go second overall. This is scientific proof. And then there is this:
  4. The Panthers could also be hoping that they can't reach a clear decision. If Houston has a preference, the Panthers could offer the #1 pick for their second rounder (pick 32, I think). If I did not have a preference--I would take the first pick of the second round-here is why: After day 1, teams have a chance to regroup and make offers to move up in the second round. We could trade that pick for a few day 2 picks. It would be nice to walk away with a CB, Edge, WR, and maybe a TE.
  5. I am just having fun with this--No--that was just illustrating the issue I have with both--OSU's NFL QB struggles--(not giving them credit for Burrow--that is what happens when you escape) and Bryce's size. You have to decide which risk you are most comfortable with, then do nothing because it is not up to you. I think, however, that they do not know--and they are keeping an open mind. I am just going to support the QB we take. I see why they would select either. Bryce is the best qb right now, but Stroud is not far behind and may end up being better. So we shall see--I like both of them a lot,
  6. Gonna be interesting to see how our defense uses the personnel. I am struggling to get a clear image of Chinn, Luvu, and YGM--and now the DT situation you present makes perfect sense.
  7. Me too on all counts. Roy will probably not make the team without his boy here.
  8. In my head, I have Shaq, Luvu, and Smith at ILB--with the need to add one. On the outside, I have Burns, Haynes, and Barno with the need to add one. I have YGM playing the 3 to 5 (depending on situation) and I have Chinn at big nickel and maybe some other spot not clearly identified in the 3-4 set. I am simply guessing what I think they will do.
  9. So when you all are saying, "We need a NT, I assume that you do not think Tuttle is that player. We have McCall (340) and Roy (I do not like him, but he is big--330) and Brown could move inside to the nose (320) if we want to rush the passer. So if we need a Nose--we do not need another DE. Is that what you are implying? Not being critical, just want to hear why everyone is saying that we need a NT.
  10. Love this pick. A bit older, but man, he can run routes, catches over the middle like its nothing, and he has good hands.
  11. Stroud's first words were, "I am going to be the first great NFL QB from Ohio State." Young's first words were, "Follow the Yellow Brick Road."

  13. In a 3/4, Burns might be everything Watts is in a 3/4. It is going to be a 4-5 year, $120-130m deal. I noticed in free agency, our contracts were longer and seemingly at the top end of the scale for the most part, but the guaranteed $$ was about half the contract.
  14. Ojulari or McDonald IV. We need the pass rusher. I can say that I was at my nephew's drum/band concert at his high school in Ohio just before Thanksgiving (Orange high School in Lewis Center) and Zach Harrison appeared. He went there-and the school is 20 minutes from the OSU campus. He seems to be a great guy. I spoke to him for just a second. He said the drums were so good at his high school games that half the crowd was there to see them. He said that he supports them because they spent 3 years supporting him, and his friends have some younger siblings in the band. He was a specimen, by the way. I asked my brother in law (who was with me) about him--he said that he lacks the dominating pass rush the Buckeyes have had in the past, but he is improving and he is solid. I compare him to YGM. Not a good fit here, imo
  15. I am copying this from ebay, but I purchased this metal plate comic book (8 x 10) about 15-20 years ago--it is in a box or something--but it is really cool and unusual:
  16. Hey Nebraska, we know how you feel right now. We were once excited about Rhule. We were also once excited about inheriting money from a Prince in Africa if we sent him our credit card information.
  17. That is striking. Love the white helmet and the shoulder stripes. Pretty damn awesome in my view.
  18. Personally, I can't understand why the Patriots went away from this....
  19. So what I get from this thread is this: 1. We need a CB 2. Chinn is a good player that we are going to have to be creative to use properly. 3. We need more help on the edge (OLB) 4. There seems to be some confusion about YGM and how he will be used. 5. Luvu will be moved around, but his position seems to be ILB and not OLB/Edge. 6. It would be nice to see LB Smith and Edge Barno step up.
  20. I just wondered, "Were you breastfed properly?" "Did your parents take your Gerbil to run free on the family farm, only to be never seen again?" "Did the person in front of you have more than 15 items in her cart and management at Harris Teeter did nothing about it?"
  21. While I have not researched his back injury, Shaq Griffin might be a nice addition to the CB group. He is 27, has been successful, and can't ask for bags of money following a year in which he spent most of the 2022 season on IR. Jax tried to trade him, no takers, so they cut him. I'd hope we'd kick the tires--that is about all I know.
  22. I hear that they hired the guy who designed the Washington Commanders uniforms. Get ready to cheer! Disclaimer: I did not hear that.
  23. I cringed when I saw that in 1995, but i was so excited about a team. I was a colt fan--not used to 3 primary colors. Those numbers look like Walmart. The faces of these guys tells it all. You know they are interns or office workers who got paid $20 to put these on for reporters--and they look a bit embarrassed. Or they should.
