  1. I found this quote to be interesting since BC's athleticism was off the charts. Not sure who said that (Rhule?) but I question it.
  2. Well, he was not vs. Chase Young, but I thought he played well. Maybe he had time to reflect after his first stint at LT---who knows? This is about the time of the year when the game should slow enough for a rookie to start getting it.
  3. Slye will be able to say that in 9 stadiums this year.
  4. Good news: Brady C did a good job. Thought he did, but was not that pumped considering he did not face Young-but an 81 is solid. If we can get a few more of those, we could have QB and LT settled before free agency/draft. Big If.
  5. I saw him getting mauled--bull rushed into the QB many times. So if you don't see it, it could be that you didn't see it--not that the grading is screwed up.
  6. I still say LT in round 1 IF Cam is re-signed, which means that he played well. While Morgan, Beason, and Luke were first rounders, we were talking about possible free agents. I dunno, but I am a believer in that Alpha MLB--maybe just old school.
  7. They really do---so having 7 stud CBs should not be the way to go...I do not see Nixon, Roy, or Hoskins in that second DT role yet. We may try to re-sign Jones?
  8. Of course, much like a pass rush and stuffing the run game helps DBs. But this defense gets gashed on occasion, and this franchise has valued MLB- Mills, Morgan, Beason, Keuchly--all ring of honor candidates. So I think positional value at MLB is important to any defense. Carter is playing below average, and well below the standard in Carolina. If you need statistics, Carter has 41 tackles this year. 4.1 tackles for a MLB is not solid. After 10 games, Morgan, Beason, Luke were usually in the 80 range. Donte Jackson, FWIW and to compare, has 33 tackles--nearly as many as our MLB. Carter's PFF rating (take it for what its worth, but you can use stats to defend him if you'd like) is 48.4. So I disagree. MLB needs to be addressed this offseason. 4 tackles per game is below average We need our MLB making 6-10 tackles per game.
  9. The reason teams do not do this: 1. Timing with WRs 2. Exchanges (center, RBs) 3. reps at practice 4. Rhythm
  10. You have to see the big picture, that is for sure. I agree. Everyone approaches this like a kid in a candy store, but Fitterererer has only so many nickels in his pocket. Jax is injury prone and you would be paying him after his best year by far. He is probably a future comp pick. Priorities Reddick (DE/OLB) Possibly Cam (QB) Offensive line (RG, LT) Free agents Middle Linebacker free agent Free Safety free agent Tight End free agent We are blessed at CB, and the money should not go there, to be honest. Henderson, Horn, Bouye, Taylor, Hartsfield (N)---with Pride, Thomas Oliver behind them--is a CB tandem most teams would covet.
  11. I heard rumblings (probably from some cracked up Huddler) rumors about Gilmore moving to FS--I think he and Pride might be able to transition to S with some degree of success.
  12. The core (youth) is going to be Taylor, Horn, and Henderson and they should be cheap for a while. We need to keep a veteran (Jackson or Gilmore) for a season or two, giving us 4 starting caliber CBs. Remember, we have Hartsfield at Nickel, and he has been solid. This is a good question, and Jackson may want to break the bank with this contract. What about Moore? (5th year) Reddick? potentially Cam? Free agent OL? We are going to lose a veteran CB or two---maybe all of them.
  13. Not really, but I thought I'd play along. I will be pumped to see what he can do, but my expectations are tempered. There are a lot of questions to answer.
  14. We have 3 "must win" games coming up (Washington, Miami, Atlanta) before we get New Orleans, Tampa Bay x 2, and Buffalo. We have to win all three and split "murderer's row" to lock down a playoff birth. It is possible, if we play like we did Sunday.
  15. Rivera was good every other year with Cam in his prime. Without him, he would be the LB coach in Detroit. Nice guy and all that, but we did not pay him millions to shake hands and kiss babies.
  16. Basically, Cam would be the wildcat with the read option and the ability / option to throw, give, or keep. As much as I have always wanted him not to be hit, if he is smart about it, he can do this successfully.
  17. Cam adds a dimension that we have not had since he was here before. I hope that the rust falls off him and he plays lights out. He is motivated, and we nearly lost the season with Darnold. I am really looking forward to watching this one.
  18. He did not say, "We're back." and getting a 15-yard penalty to scream "I'm back!" in a camera was not leadership. Spin it if you want, but Cam was frustrated sitting on the that couch and emotion came pouring out--I get it, but people calling that leadership are off point.
  19. He was not at that time--he was talking about himself--there was no leadership. Do you know what leadership is? It was self promotion. And this thread title is not a parade for pro-Cam enthusiasts--it says "Thoughts?" So I am just as entitled to post sensible, logical comments as you are to post nonsense.
  20. Not me. A leader does not jeopardize his team to promote himself in the endzone. Sorry if we disagree on that.
  21. Hindsight--at the time, it could have--you kick from the 20 after going ahead 7-0 vs. the top team in the NFL at their place. Could have been huge.
  22. Oh, you thought my comment meant that it happens every time. Damn son.
