According to the press conference today it sounds like Rico is going to be the RB1

Dalton seemed pissed off, and it looks like Canales is going to commit to Dowdle after his meeting with the “team council”. If Bryce sat out, it might be for the best, so he’s not running for his life and putting even more stress on the ankle. It would give Dalton one more opportunity not to go out like that.

There is some overreaction but look at the Schedule: Green Bay- Probably a loss but who knows, they poo the bed sometimes. Saints- Dumpster fire (Don’t be dramatic they are way worse) Falcons- Already won once. 49ers- Literally falling apart, one of the worst injury riddled teams in the last decade. Rams- This will be bad. Saints- See above. Bucs- probably a loss but still a divisional game. Seattle- Darnolds revenge game, will probably lose. Bucs- See above. We likely win 3 MAYBE 4 of the remaining games which is 7-10 or 8-9 and exactly where we were supposed to be this season. We are not good enough yet to be where a lot of people are expecting us to be. 7-8 wins is success for us right now.

This QB draft class kinda sucks. Like the year that we had the 1st pick. I would keep Bryce since it’s the last year of his contract, go after one of the higher end veteran QBs in FA, whoever that will be, and then take a shot on day 2 or 3 on somebody like Haynes King. At that point, if it fails you can clean house and the new staff has a chance to pick their QB. Our 1st rounder needs to go towards Edge or LB. Maybe OL but that can probably be handled in Free Agency.

I don’t think it’s Tepper. I think it’s Canales, he’s big on “Player Led Culture” and Chuba is one of the captains. He’s trying to avoid creating a riff or something

I thought it was season ending. Either way, I think you still keep Corbett at RG and Zavala as the backup. But who knows. I think David Moore is eligible to return as well… unfortunately

Christensen, Hunt, Zavala out for the year. Mays told a reporter in the locker room he was fine, just tweaked his ankle. Moton is a wait and see but there is Nijman who isn’t as bad this season. So looking like LT-Ekwonu LG- Lewis C- Mays RG- Corbett RT- Moton? Back-Ups Samac (C), Curhan (G) Nijman (T) and they will probably bring up Brandon Walton (T) from the ps again. Or Saadiq Charles (G) who has been in the NFL a while.

That’s what I was getting at. If they are going to have a real back-up QB it’s going to have to be somebody that can drive competition, which has ultimately been a cardinal sin here since Bryce was drafted.

After the Raiders and Bengals game last year, he looked completely fatigued for the other games. He didn’t look good in the preseason either. I think his age plus not really playing much has caught up with him. It’s different at that age if he’s playing every week, but he hasn’t and he lost it.

He will retire at the end of the season. Canales already said in the press conference that he will continue being the back up. The real question will be who do they get in the offseason to either A) provide competition in QB room or B) have a competent back up for situations like this. The problem is can you really have B without A?

Might have to trade for OL after today

I don’t think they will trade Dowdle. They will just let him go somewhere else at the end of the season. I think in Canales’ brain he’s trying to save them both from wear in case one gets hurt. Morgan isn’t pounding the table because he don’t want to answer for paying Chuba last year.

1) The decision to try to trot the FG team on the field to kick a field goal before halftime was completely ridiculous. You are down 16. The offense can come back to the line faster just line up and take another shot. 2) Whatever in the hell this Rico/Chuba thing is sucks. Everyone from the huddle to the media to random other fans on X are in disbelief. Chuba either isn’t what we thought he was or he has lost a step. I’m almost positive the FO doesn’t want to look stupid for paying him and / or Canales doesn’t have the courage to tell him he’s number 2.
