Reich’s description of a QB: It’s basically Corral
amcoolio replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, I like Corral and he was my #1 QB last draft but he doesn't currently have an NFL body and has a long way to go. Can't count on him for the next few years IMO -
Tepper admits to mistake in hiring Matt Rhule
amcoolio replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
If anything it seems like he turned over way too much to Rhule those first two years, if rumors are true about letting Matt control social media, then people came to him and said this is toxic and he stepped in -
Hurts and Richardson have similar scouting reports.... Both were/are considered to be one read, struggling pocket passers with questionable decisions, but Richardson has the stronger arm and Hurts has that "do anything it takes to win" mentality and toughness. That's the hardest part to gauge when drafting someone, hopefully Richardson has what it takes if we take him. I'm leaning more towards trading up for Stroud

Tepper admits to mistake in hiring Matt Rhule
amcoolio replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Marty had a track record with his first rounders, and while he sucked at nearly every other aspect of GM'ing, hitting home runs/grand slams every single time (save for Otah) goes a long way to impressing owners and media -
Whatever we do, we can't continue with Darnold. The guy could only complete 5 passes in a freakin dome in a meaningless game. And he isn't a rookie, this was his 5th year. I'm done with those types of stat lines. We shouldn't settle for that.

Frank Reich's Intro Presser - Today, Noon EST

Agreed, there are posters here that cannot take any criticism for their convictions. Reich has a lot to prove. He isn't some top tier coach that we went out and snatched from the rest of the NFL. -
Did you miss where Kansas City had 8 downs? You are wrong my dude. This was horrible.
-
Burrow is nothing short of unbelievable I'd take him over any QB in the league
-
What a nightmare scenario if CMC starts throwing and he's really good and Carolina traded him lol
-
The Eagles literally have 9-10 in the box. CMC is going to have to throw
-
Jesus Christ, good quarterbacks don't put up stat lines like that. Don't fuging settle for Darnold
-
So, we really weren't impressed with Steichen?
-
All this poo won't matter if the Panthers win and get to the playoffs. Winning is all that matters. I am not stoked on Reich at all - history is not on his side to be successful - but will hope for the best
-
Not that I think Reich is a good hire (he isn't) but Wilks had no idea how to stop a very bad, predictable Bucs offense to win the division...that tells you all you need to know about him
-
Wilks said Holcomb is his DC if he was hired, that should have been an insta-no
-
That's a lot of excuses for a guy who was fired three times already on very bad offenses, which is the only thing I said. And I know from previous experience you like to discredit any poster who makes your argument look bad, like when I posted the guy who got all first 10 picks correct during the draft and knew we were taking Ickey and you said that guy "edited it after the fact" because you said no one could possibly know we were picking him
-
Uh, its proven fact he was fired from those three teams and all three were wildly underperforming/bad offenses. But since you apparently don't know: Reich fired from the Colts: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2022/11/07/indianapolis-colts-new-frank-reich-fired-as-head-coach-jim-irsay/69626479007/ Reich fired from the Bolts: https://www.si.com/nfl/2016/01/04/san-diego-chargers-offensive-coordiantor-frank-reich-fired Reich fired from the Cardinals: https://www.revengeofthebirds.com/2012/12/31/3822404/arizona-cardinals-fire-offensive-coaching-staff-along-with-ken
-
Again, Reich has been fired from three different teams for terrible offenses (Arizona, San Diego and Indianapolis). Does the "offensive guru" really deserve a fourth chance?
-
We hire Reich we will be looking for a new head coach in the next couple offseasons. The team seriously can't go through this cycle and think that Reich and Wilks are the best candidates.
-
I wouldn't take AR at 9, but definitely a trade back to 16-19 range and getting an extra 2nd and 3rd

New Coach Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo
amcoolio replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wilks had an open tryout for the job and was badly outcoached by Byron Leftwich and Todd Bowles, That's all you need to know about his chances for HC. I would be very disappointed if we stuck with Wilks, even though I like the guy.
