I'm in full wait and see approach. This team has gotten worse every year since the 2015. They got a lot of work to do before I'll get excited and believe in any offseason hype again. Have you talked to the folks on Mint St? Tepper sure seems to keep believing they're close. But yeah, just being competitive in games would be a huge step forward from last season.

Donnelly says this can be looked at as a win now move since Cloweney has been in the "mercenary phase" of his career the last couple years. He says the Panthers might be feeling they are closer to competing than most think and plays a clip of DC saying they can compete for the division next season. Donnelly doesn't think the Panthers are as close as Morgan and Co seem to believe. Wishes the contract was for a little less

That wasn't the reason people disliked Cam Newton or other QBs.

Mahomes is also that ultra rare true generational type player. Holding him up as an example to either side really doesn't work because he is that 1 in a million or whatever number you want to use. That said, I agree with you that most people, including coaches, don't give a poo about footwork until the results are bad. But there are also those that use the argument simply because they don't like the QB for whatever reason.

Matt Millers' 7 Round Mock (Panthers info only)
jayboogieman replied to SaltAndPepper's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sounds nice but will the Panthers actually call slants? Just like rolling the QB out, it's something this team doesn't do no matter what regime is in charge. -
Only people I've ever seen argue this is those that constantly cry about Young. Some of you acting like this is a big deal now are the same ones that cried about Ron and Co never holding Newton accountable to improve his footwork. Funny how the argument shifts to support your narrative.

I agree, but Sinclair isn't going away. There's too much money behind them. -
Can ESPN Survive As Cable TV Fades?

The video gets into this a little bit and one of the former ESPN executives says the goals for ESPN is to tie up the different leagues in as many long terms contracts as they can. ESPN signed the SEC from CBS in 2020 and the 10 year contract started with the 2024 season. -
Prepare for even more streaming services including a new ESPN service that ties into gambling. And prepare for costs to keep going up.

You keep pick 33 and trade the Giants' pick if you trade a second round pick at all. By the time the Giants' pick comes up, teams will have seen if there is a run on a certain position group and might be willing to give up a decent deal to get whoever they want if that position group is starting to run thin.
-
Considering the Panthers have more needs than picks, no. Just sitting at 33 in your scenario gets the Panthers a WR that's ranked top 10 at his position group or whoever else Morgan and Co have highly ranked that's available. And the biggest thing is they get to keep the rest of their picks to get more cheap, hopefully talented, players.

The day 3 picks should be all linemen, linebackers, corners, and maybe a running back depending on how the draft falls, not a QB that'll end up cut.

Have you been watching the NFL for the last few years? They've been close to that for a long time now.

PFF's Free Agency Grade Thus Far...

If Bowers or one of the top three receivers are there at 15, I'd have to strongly consider trading those two seconds. Bowers is a freaking beast.

Even with Fitt gone, this team loves guys that are coming off an injury

Go ahead and make sure your insurance is in order. You know Hubert isn't going to do that.
