  1. Might just be perception on my part, but it seems like PI penalties (offense and defense) are up this year.
  2. Detroit trying to keep Seattle in the game.
  3. They look like us vs the Saints. Detroit is not much better.
  4. Fwiw, the article doesn't say what Morgan wanted to do. It just says he didn't dissent/disagree with his boss. Those are two different things and we have no if Morgan dissented in private or what the relationship was between Morgan and Fitterer. The one who did dissent was fired, so maybe Morgan knew better than to air his dissent.
  5. Assuming we do get a high pick, why? QB is a far more important position than any other on the field, and there usually is no way to know how good one will be until he gets in the NFL and plays a few years. Any projections made (ie this years draft class has great qb's or bad qb's) is just a guess. So if we think a particular player has a shot, we should take it. IMO, the if we draft them high, they have to play right away is heavily flawed. You draft based on what you think they might be. You play them based on what they actually are at the time they put on the uniform. I would prefer any rookie, regardless of where they are drafted, gets worked into the starting lineup. There are exceptions to this of course, but generally speaking, it's probably better for the team, and for them.
  6. Several of the great qb's sat for a year or two before becoming starters.
  7. They can and would look at it regardless of how it was called on the field.
  8. Well, Miami wins, but there will be a wee bit o controversy.
  9. Don't see how that could possibly be a td, but not sure they have enough to overturn.
  10. Same age as Daniels, the only successful qb (so far) from this past years draft.
  11. We certainly avoided that by drafting Young. He will be out quickly.
  12. Yes For $19.99 plus tax, I can let you know when the world will end.
  13. The qb gurus are wrong more often than they are right. So your opinion means as much as anyone's.
  14. I think all the fans of opposing teams in the ACC would love it if FSU hired Sanders as their coach. He would get a lot of hype, come out hot, but soon fade.
  15. Fair enough. IMO, the real question regarding his ability to play in the NFL though is will he learn when to make those risky throws and when not to, ie will he learn from his mistakes.
  16. Does Ward turn the ball over a lot? Looking at his stats, doesn't seem to have a lot of turnovers. 7 total last year.
  17. I wouldn't say the Jaguars have invested nothing in their offensive. They spent a first last year on a tackle, they had another tackle under a large contract who was pretty good, but hasn't been the same since an injury. They signed a few others who were considered good signings at the time. Maybe they didn't invest wisely, but they definitely invested.
  18. Ironic you should say that. A couple of people (Brady and Orlovsky) have recently said that part of the problem is that qb's are thrown into starting roles immediately and don't spend enough time in college or in the pros learning the offense and working their way up. Orlovsky implied that Stroud spending three years in school, redshirting a year, was one of the reasons he did so well.
  19. The problem is him becoming a starting NFL qb would be a significant aberration. He is the smallest starter in NFL history, or something like that. He doesn't have a super strong arm, nor does he have great athleticism. The odds were already against him, and now that he has 18 games under his belt and has gotten worse as he progressed, the odds of him becoming a NFL starter are even slimmer than they were. So it may be better if we get what we can for him.
  20. So apparently, the key to drafting a qb is to have the number two draft pick.
  21. Trevor Lawrence is definitely not a generational talent. A generational talent can win with an average offense around him. Brady did it, Drew Brees did it, Aaron Rogers did it, Mahomes is doing it. They made the players around them look better. I think of him as Matt Ryan, pretty good when you surround him with an all-star cast. That being said, there is not a chance in he!! that the Jaguars trade him anytime soon.
  22. Same here. It felt great to win one, it felt great to see the offense and defense do something, but its still just one win. Would like to see a trend develop before I start thinking positively about the season.
