Shouldn't They Try Some new WRs? 🤔
Davidson Deac II replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
He had 13 offensive snaps for the game, which I suppose is not bad for a guy fresh off the practice squad. He is a track star, so he definitely has speed, I hope they can find some use for him. Fwiw, the pass to him definitely showed that Bryce can throw a nice deep ball when he has time and an open receiver. -
The Thursday and Sunday night games have both been offensive Masterpieces.

Our defense is better than the Giants. I am thinking we lose 34-3.
-
Lawrence is getting beat up today.
-
Still not sure why the td got called back, I missed the penalty. Didn't matter as they got the TD anyway.
-
Intentional. I don't know how Bryce will work out, to me its 50/50 at this point. But the Oline is not good, and we don't have any significant playmakers. For all the comparisons with Cam Newton's rookie year, Cam had Olsen, a pair of running backs in Stewart and Williams that averaged over 5 yards a carry, and the best receiver in Panthers history.

Bad challenge by SF I think.

If Baker is playing fairly well now, wouldn't that indicate that the problem was not Baker (or Young for that matter) but our offense?
-
Relatively weak schedule. Their best win is against a Buffalo team that is inexplicably struggling this year.
-
NFC South is the worst division in football for the second year in a row.
-
Don't throw the ball when the defender has his arms wrapped around you. Trevor Lawrence has turned into a decent NFL qb, but he is no Brock Purdy.
-
Carr's issue was a glacially slow delivery and his decision-making process. Took him forever to get the ball out.
-
There is no David Carr syndrome. Carr wasn't a good NFL qb.

Protest on Mint Street this Sunday at noon
Davidson Deac II replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree, protesting over the results of a athletic team is ludicrous. -
Our coaching staff gave them three points. 3rd and 1 at midfield. Both teams with all three time outs. Run the ball, make it and keep playing, don't make it, force them to use a timeout. Instead we throw, incomplete pass, and now they go in down by 1.

And for all the talk about Bryce's height, seeing the field didn't seem to be the issue in this last game. On the first pick 6, he just made a bad decision. On the second, he overthrew the receiver, seeing the field wasn't an issue. And on the third one, he underthrew the receiver. I am not saying he will fix those mistakes; I genuinely don't know. But if he does, he will be a good qb, if not, well the next few years are going to be as bad as the last few.

Do you know any other owner wives names
Davidson Deac II replied to RumHam's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wouldn't know this owners wife's name if I didn't see it here every day. For that matter, I was a Washington fan in the 70's and 80's and didn't really know the name of the actual owner. Didn't care. -
I know, just saying he would be more of a downfield deep ball threat than Theilen, at least speed wise. And he did have the longest completion of the game, counting yac. Fwiw, I think a lot of this is still a work in progress, but I do find the play of the line, especially the left tackle, disconcerting.
-
Thielen is slower than many NFL receivers. Don't care. He catches it. Mingo and Chark are supposed to be the downfield threats.
-
Agreed. If we resign him (a big if), it will have to be incentive laden, and make him easy to cut if the injuries continue. It sucks, because I think he is a very talented corner, but nothing can be done about it.

They are fifth in points allowed per game. Reality is that without all the turnovers, they would likely be 7-1, or maybe 8-0.
-
I find it interesting that people are talking about the SF defense. With 7 turnovers in the last three games, might need to point the finger at the other side. The reality is that most of the time, the more you turn the ball over, the more the other team scores.
