I agree about the dline. If memory serves, we went out and signed Allen just for that reason. But I think you are underestimating the secondary. Had some age on it, but all in all, the secondary played very well that season.

I think the 2002 d was the best panther defense I ever saw. They just go no help from the offense.

He played on teams that were far more talented than the teams they were playing against. Just like most of the qb's that were drafted in the first round this year. So far, of the ones that have actually played, it seems like only Mac Jones has adapted well. But he probably went into the best situation.

Personally, I am more concerned about run blocking, or lack thereof at this point in the season. Right now, we are bottom five in the league in ypc, even with CMC back. Of course, the Saints have a very good run defense, and the Jets run d wasn't bad last year. But we don't get much push, especially in short yardage situations.

Power polls and such at this point in the season are largely based on where you started. A good win over the saints will bump us up some, but expecting to be top ten is unrealistic. But this isn't college and polls don't matter. Only matters how many we win and lose.

I bet we can get one delivered by this weekend from Amazon.

At this point, I would rather trade for a kicker. That is not to say LT is not a need, it is. But we are better off there now than at Kicker.

Their run defense last year was decent. 10th in the league in yards allowed per carry, and they were in the top half of the league in fewest yards allowed rushing. Not the 85 bears, but compared to the rest of the team, it was solid. In truth, their defense played fairly well today. But the offense doomed them with four interceptions.

Against some teams, it might be a strategy. I can't imagine it was the strategy against the Aint's. Their kick returner is pretty good.

Fwiw, I certainly wouldn't judge him based on today. Even CMC struggled to run the ball well today, averaging around 3 yards per carry. With a few exceptions, Saints shut the run game down. Fortunately, the passing game and our own defensive play rendered their effort meaningless.

Agreed, but I have learned to ignore the nattering nabobs of negativity. If you don't ignore them, they can take all the joy out of winning.

Saints have a very good run defense and we didn't manage much against it today. Passing attack was a little more effective in the first half. Second half was rough for a while, as the Saints started getting to Sam, but our offense made some plays in the 4th qtr. The Oline is not that good right now, but it could get better if the rookies improve. Fortunately, we are finding ways to work around it in the passing game.

It feels good. Doing it against the Aints makes it that much better.

That should be ball game. It feels great to beat the Aints. Dominant defensive game. Offense played a great half of football. Special teams, well they weren't special, but the d was so good it didn't matter.

At this point, I would be tempted to give up a second round pick to get Gano back.

Our run pass ratio this half is about two passes to every run. The problem is that our passing game has been crap this half.

Its probably a incomplete pass. Only question is, is it enough to overturn the ruling on the field. Regardless we need a drive and points.
