  1. It's misguided to solely focus on sacks and try and nitpick based on that alone. That being said, it was a single game that we won.....HR and BB both acknowledged in their post game pressers that they left some sacks out there. They'll watch tape and work on finishing. Give some credit to Wilson too.
  2. Headshot mix-up aside, looking at his projected stats, I'm really hoping DJ is able to hit pay dirt more than 4-5 times this season
  3. Well said. That sums it up pretty good and I'm not really seeing how anyone can argue that logical train of thought....but it is the huddle after all
  4. Not that I'm shocked by it after being around this board for years, but damn man, it never ceases to amaze me how bent out of shape some people get based off a preseason game! I don't know if Sam will end up being the answer @ QB or not, so this isn't a defend Sam post. With that being said, not every team in the league had/will have a joint practice with another NFL team during preseason. The Panthers have had two back to back (against two playoff teams from a year ago). Only like 6 other teams had/will have multiple joint practices and several teams had/will have zero. Maybe some will say that doesn't matter, but I'd disagree. We must have a lot of tape against legit competition from those joint sessions. Now if Sam doesn't get a lot of run against the Steelers either, then I'll start to worry more because Rhule has said the 3rd and final preseason game will be treated like the most legit dress rehearsal. I will say that not bringing in some better competition at QB for Sam to battle it out with was probably a legit mistake. I can't argue against that. Also, Slye does need to go. Too inconsistent.
  5. Major injuries during preseason and practice are the worst. Hate to see that for anyone. I'm always holding my breath this time of year that news doesn't come down that a Panther has suffered a season ending injury.
  6. Was thinking the same thing. We just got used to 6'5'' QB's for a hot minute I guess, haha
  7. Maybe he wasn't "elite" by predefined stereotypical NFL QB standards (centered around passing), but he was elite in his own way no doubt. Can't deny he wasn't the most accurate thrower when you examine the numbers or watch tape, but I think a lot of that can be attributed to what the organization was asking him to do for so many years (playing behind mediocre OL's, being forced to throw the ball into tight windows, not providing him with the full range of weapons he needed etc.)
  8. 100% on board with the "wait and see approach". Always have felt that way. The draft is a crapshoot with far far too many variables to label a pick "bad" less than 24 hours after it's been made. Landing a top 2 CB on the board, I'm not mad.
  9. Sure very few would disagree....he won't be there @ 8 though.
  10. Somebody tell the kid he has his mask on upside down
  11. Nothing about that reply changes my original opinion, lol If you have to explain/clarify the exercise in a second post because the cliché saying you choose to use doesn't fit...just re-word it man. I'm not overly critical, it legitimately just didn't make sense imo. It was just a small comment and then I contributed to your original question. Don't take it as me siding with anyone, ha, I have nothing to do with whatever feud you and MHS have going.
  12. I share a similar thought process as you in regards to Mac. Simms rankings definitely did catch my attention.
  13. I think that ^ should be the takeaway for the OP...was super confused when first trying to decipher the thread at first. I can't decide between Darnold, Mariotta, or Jones honestly. It would be one of those 3 though, not another chance for Teddy or the Alex Smith option.
  14. I don't wanna hear jack $hit about the condition of the field, we're playing on the same field, right????
  15. I agree with you on Tolbert getting plenty of carries. I'm just hoping we blow them out like like we did ATL last week b/c if that happens, we will get to see a lot of CAP.
  16. Oh man, their rejuvenated state of euphoria shall be short lived indeed.....can't wait
  17. Fug the media, I care only about the scoreboard and our win loss record
  18. Cliche or not, any given Sunday....or Monday....or Thursday now as well, any team can beat any other team. It's the NFL. I personally don't believe in "trap" games. These dudes get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to play football. To do a job. They are grown men, this isn't a DI vs. DIII college game when 1 team really should expect to win. They shouldn't be taking any game lightly, regardless of the opposing teams record or reputation. (and for the record I don't think they do, it's only fans that get overly optimistic or overly pessimistic). I firmly believe our coaching staff has our guys minds in the right place. Trying to "cut down" on reactionary threads and whining....I don't ever see that happening here.
  19. You're probably right about the MA deal, but at any rate, a NFL 4-3 DE should ideally weight more than 255 pounds With that being said, I don't give a fug what he weighs as long as he can get pressure on the opposing QB.
  20. Indeed. If RR is concerned about Addison not being "big" enough to be an every down DE, then I'd say Jared needs to put on a few pounds...
