Donnelly on Hayden Hurst and a comment he made about the Panthers
rayzor replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
he shows the capacity for screwing up and then scrapping it and trying it again. if he is learning how to be a not horrible owner, these are the kinds of things you need to see...not digging your heels in the ground and refusing to admit you were wrong. scrapping a plan and going a different direction is admitting that you fugged up and you're going to try again. maybe he stumbled onto something good. i'm just glad he's trying to get it worked out. looks like he figured morgan was someone who could and should be trusted and then trusted him with selecting his own HC. the fact that didn't go after a hyped commodity is also different than what he has done. he did things differently this time around and he's staying in the background. i thin there's plenty of reason to be encouraged by what's going on. he hasn't given up. the team is rebuilding and reshaping. we haven't lost any games this season yet. until this iteration is proven to be a failure, i'm not going to deem it as such. also not deeming it as a success...i'm keeping an open mind and being hopeful so i can enjoy the offseason. again this is all my take. it may not be for everyone. it's definitely not for those afraid of getting hopes dashed. it takes a bit of courage to choose to be hopeful feel good about what is going on considering what we've experienced in the past. -
glad he's ready to go. can't wait to see him in action here.

wasn't there some guy from utah that got overlooked a few years ago?

we need to draft at least two. i'm not a fan of the WR room, but i am a fan of this WR draft class so as many chances as we can get to upgrade there, the better.

true. if all the fastest 40 timers do is run straight line routes, then sure...they have the advantage. just being able to run straight line doesn't mean that they will be the fastest route runners or even the fastest off the line.

i wouldn't hate this. would like to see another WR in there in addition to McConkey.

same. don't know much about Cephus but i need to check into him. One that is another smaller guy but a legit threat is anthony gould. guy is insanely quick.

PFF Day 2 WR projection. Different take
rayzor replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
We've got who we've got and we're stuck with it for a while. We can't draft based on the QB we wish we had. Focus has to be on who's best to help Bryce succeed. Doesn't matter if people don't want him. He's here. Now let's just try to make it work with him here. -
PFF Day 2 WR projection. Different take

We had a different QB. Guys like ginn are good for gunslingers. That ain't exactly Young. Get the WRs that will help Bryce rather than the type WRs you prefer. -
PFF Day 2 WR projection. Different take

Im pretty excited about a good few WRs in this class. I have to say Franklin isn't one of those guys I'm stoked about. If their greatest contribution is speed, I'm not the greatest fan. They have to either be a good route guy and create separation or be someone who can muscle the ball away from anyone. If they don't do either of those things we'll, I'm not a huge fan. -
This guy is doing stuff I've never heard anyone do. Heavily influenced by 80s pop, but has some really interesting and creative dissonance going on. I love it
-
I don't know, there are teams who are apparently pretty high on him. He's one of those guys you're really excited about the potential or you're kind of meh over bc you see him as a one year wonder.

They'll just take the guy we like the most

Anthony Rizzuti's realistic Panthers 7-round mock draft
rayzor replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Same. I feel like he should be here. -
unless...maybe...the assistant isn't, in fact, a clone of his former boss and may actually have a better idea of how to do the job than his former boss. it could be that he saw his former boss do things that he wouldn't do or figured out he shouldn't do. it could be he has a better head for the job than his former boss. i've had several former bosses that i was actually close to, but who i wouldn't do things the way they did and felt i could do the job better...despite being their associate and friend.

i do not like that move at all. nothing against Bowers, but we need more playmakers. Can't see that move happening.

I'm hoping that big rich fat blind squirrel found him a couple nuts. -
