We fugged up

Recommended Posts

I am gonna say it, we should have drafted Lillard. I know you are gonna tell me but we have Kemba, but fug, Lillard is just on another level imo.

The funny thing was I thought Lillard was the best / most skilled player in the draft. (not potential) And still would have past on him due to Kemba.

Looking back that was a bad decision. Kemba is not a tier 1 player. Close and some could say he could become one, but right now he is on that 2nd tier of PG's.

Lillard is a sure fire 1st tier PG and potential perennial all star.

Never pass up tier 1 talent unless you already have tier 1 talent at that position.

Dunlap (yes I'm aware he sucks) sure used Kemba and Pargo a lot to close games in Lillard's rookie season, so I think we could have made it work.

thats beside the point. you cant pass up tier 1 talent unless you already have tier 1 talent at same position.

Lillard 20.7 ppg - 3.5 rpg - 5.6 ast

Kemba 17.7 ppg - 4.2 rpg - 6.1 ast

Now imagine them together.  With a healthy Big Al.

Man, I'm not 100% sure it would work, but it'd be damn fun to watch.

Why you leave off shooting %'s and the year differences?

Kemba is a nice PG but he isn't on Lillards level.

becus i was on my phone and cudnt bring up full stats...

Lillard .427 FG% - .381 3pt% - 0.8 steals - 2.7 turnovers

Kemba .398 FG% - .322 3pt% - 1.4 steals - 2.2 turnovers

you guys are making it out like Kemba is a child compared to Lillard. They are pretty close- but the edge def goes to Lillard

Kemba is a really nice PG, hence even I who rarely if ever puts on homer glasses, am guilty of doing so in this instance.

Kemba is def a tier 2 PG right below the elites. And hell maybe one day can become elite. It was clear as day Lillard was a tier 1 PG / player in this league i.e size, athleticism, skill, etc.

    • I encourage you to go back and watch his college play. Notice how he immediately backpedals to 10 yards behind the LOS on almost every snap. You can't do that in the NFL. Your OTs have no chance of keeping those freak show edge rushers off of you. You can't create a pocket that deep. If you drop back like that in the NFL on a regular basis you're basically on your own. Your OL can't do a whole lot for you. Bryce can chuck it when he has an airport runway in front of him to step up into. There's a reason why "ease of generating velocity" is such a talking point evaluating QBs. It's not how hard or how far you can throw the ball given a perfect situation. It's how hard and how far you can throw the ball in a typical NFL game situation and that's where a lot of my concerns with Bryce were going into the draft. There were way too many plays in his college tape that if you were watching that purely in terms of translating it to the NFL it just didn't work.
    • Yeah, like I said I get it. From a revenue perspective I'm not a good customer for them. They've probably intentionally tanked offline franchise mode to try to get people online. Again, not a terrible strategy from a pure business perspective. I can't really be mad at them for doing what's good for business but yeah, from my perspective it still sucks.
    • Ok let me be more specific. Smith was a stud before Newton got here do you not agree? Yes, LaFell improved under Cam but then had his best years after leaving the Panthers with Cam as the QB and going to NE. So he improved playing with someone else. Olsen was in Chicage the year before Cam arrived and statistically had the same numbers his first year with Cam.  Hope that's clearer for you.
