Not feeling good right now....

Damn....you just gotta love Gettleman.

Every time I listen to him talk I am more pleased that we hired this him.  He is going to bring a championship to this team.

This video really tells why they like this guy.   I liked how he said he made the tough catches.  He looks like a beast and I gotta tell you they did their homework.

I truly hope he breaks our receiver jinx.

His 40 time isn't a concern either when you realize that a 10 yard split is much more important.

  • Vincent Jackson: 1.57
  • Marques Colston: 1.60
  • Kelvin Benjamin: 1.62
  • Alshon Jeffery: 1.64

I think his physical traits are just fine.  As long as catches consistently with his hands and not his body, he'll be successful.  I trust G-man and Proehl.

Catching consistently has been an issue. Lots of dropped balls

Vincent Jackson 78 catches 12 drops

Brandon Marshall 100 catches 15 drops

Wes Welker 73 catches 10 drops

Calvin Johnson 84 catches 10 drops

Dez Bryant 93 catches 11 drops

AJ Green 98 catches 11 drops

All higher drop rates than Benjamin's last year.  Worry more about the plays he'll make, one drop doesn't hurt as much as one big catch helps.

Didnt want Lee as he was not the same player after his injury.

Your point?

My point is you are being critical of a guy that is a freak of nature because he doesn't jump 4 inches higher.

Gettleman and staff thoroughly vetted him.  They visited at combine, his pro day, a private visit at FSU, and a private visit in Charlotte.

When it was our pick, he was selected within 30 seconds.  That shows me supreme confidence that they got the player they wanted.

Sure, he isn't Megatron.  But he has more potential than any offensive player (besides Newton) in a LONG LONG time.  Even if he is never a top tier #1, he instantly gives us a redzone threat.

Not much more you can ask for at pick #28.

I wanted Cyrus. The most respected doctor for the NFL said his knee was fine and not an issue.

If not Cyrus than Robsinson.

Cyrus still might be there at 60 if a lot of teams are put off by that knee. Never know...

    • I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.
    • My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
    • In fairness, she is ensuring she is talked about.  People really aren’t going out there way to bring her up.  It’s some weird poo.  She would end up getting talked about given her actions if she was 40. Bill realizing some of these high end “companions” got a game of their own.  That’s what I don’t think Bill saw coming.
