Vonleh Is A Wasted Pick!

Vonleh was projected as high as #4 in the draft. One expert listed him as the best power forward in the draft.  While watching the draft and looking on the internet, they had Vonley as the highest rated player when we picked.  The Hornets may have gotten a gift just like the Panthers with Star.

Vonleh was projected to go no1 at one time by some.

Yup. They're our future.

I don't think McBob is back. We want him but its about the $$$. We're not or better not overpay for him.

McRoberts is going to be back, Clifford likes his passing and ball handling as the stretch 4. MJ loves him and will probably give him 5m a year.

Also they think the two most important spots open on the team for FA is the two backup PG spots. Clifford values a backup PG more then say upgrading at the 2 or 3. Also unlike fans he understands the importance of MKG to this team.

Seriously! Some guys on here make me so mad. Just throwing dumb ass comparison out there hoping it stick on the wall.

Vonleh is already a better defender than Zeller. Could be a better defender than Biz very soon, and imo a better offensive player than Zeller. Zeller is the typical stretch 4. He got a lot of his points in transition at Indiana. Vonleh scored in a variety of ways last year.

Quit the damn Bismack and Ibaka comparison!

Do you realize you just quoted two people saying that the comparisons are ridiculous?

Clifford value McRob that much bc he's pretty much the PG of this team.

If pj can fill it up from the 2 having mkg at the three isn't a big deal. It was having hendo and mkg at 2 & 3 that was the issue.

We don't have to be the highest offer for McRoberts. He took less money last time bc he felt like he was wanted and valued here more. We have shown that he is an important piece in the pie. I don't see us breaking the bank trying to resign him if someone comes in with a high offer. I think he wants to be here as much as we want him here. All he's doing is getting a little better contract that last longer then 1year.

Yea, but he took less money to earn more money this year. He did just that. Some teams could really use him. As much as Cho and Clifford likes him, I think Vonleh will impact whether McRob will be here or not. I know Clifford said that he texted McR after the Vonleh pick, but trust me I think it'll affect the decision. Zeller and Vonleh are drafted too high to be sitting on the bench.

With Haywood gone one of them can slide into the center spot for some minutes. Honestly BIg Al played to many minutes during the season last year and we have seen what happens with him out of the lineup or hurt so one of them will be groomed to take some minutes at center. Thus we still need MCRoberts for multiple years.

    • It is hard to win in the NFL. I’m never going to put an * next to a Dub.
    • We had a very favorable matchup our o-line manhandles theirs. Even Etienne looked like he would have had a great game on his limited rushing opportunities.
    • I think that's part of the problem, he's spreading the ball around too much, many of them are the first read play calls, and on top of that, a large portion of them are purposefully called screens or other short passes. I just looked, the Cardinals are the only other team in the league right now without at least 3 players with 100+ yards receiving so far this year, with the majority of teams having 4 or more.  And even then, their #2 right now is McBride with over 200 yards. Our 2nd leading receiver this year has 108 yards (albeit with 4 more players with 82 or more). On the surface, that might not be as alarming as you might think, but when you add into it that Bryce is currently 6th in the league in pass attempts, and it's even more alarming that he hasn't gotten a 3rd player to 100 yards so far and his second highest is only 108. XL has 39 yards on 18 targets.  Renfrow has 82 yards on 24 targets.  Tremble has 87 on 16 targets.  Sanders has 92 on 14 targets. None of those are good enough, so why aren't we calling more plays with T-Mac as the first read and forcing the ball to him (and again, that's not me wanting my guy to get more targets, that's me wanting more targets for the only productive pass catcher so far this year, I'd feel the same no matter what that player's name was). All of this is why I have issues with Canales' play calling.  How do you have a player who had 73 yards in the first half and then you only give him 1 target in the 2nd half despite playing from behind the majority of that time? You can be happy about the win, happy about Dowdle getting 200 yards, but in a game where your QB threw it 30 times, I can't accept the above sentence in the same breath, that's just terrible play calling, which is on top of the already predictable play calling in general, which is also on top of boring play designs as well. Add it all up, and THAT is why I'm unhappy even after a win, not because "my guy" didn't have a bigger game.
