Shawn Marion to Charlotte?

I still think that there's a high chance of Marion coming to Charlotte. If you look at it right now, SF is a big need on the team. MKG is still a project offensively and Taylor is coming off an injury.

Cho said at Marvin's press conference that we're almost, but not done yet in adding more pieces. And, Clifford said that he sees Marvin as a PF even though he can play both the 3/4. That leaves room to add another SF.

The 4th & 5th best players on the team are SFs. It's not a need.

Clifford also went on & on about how he can play either F position.

Williams will split his minutes between SF/PF. He will start at PF then slide to SF when MKG is out.

We have one 3/4 and it is Marvin and our only true backup center is biyombo. MKG is a 3, cody and Vonleh are 4s.

We need veterans to help bring the young guys along. Marion has been on winning teams for awhile now. It'll depend on whether he wants to be a mentor at this point in his career or try again for a second ring. I'd take his experience here in a heartbeat.

 

I dont see Marion as enough of an improvement to warrant taking away minutes from our core. I'd rather see Cody, Vonleh, and Biz get the backup big minutes. I think a healthy Taylor and Hendo are more than capable as backups at SF. Add that Lance can slide down in small lineups. 

 

 

MKG and Marvin are 3/4 tweeners.

Yea, just like how Lance will get time at PG, Zeller/Noah at PF/ C, etc. Does that mean that Lance is a PG? BOOM!

      So what about their sign is not compliant or causing the issue according to the rules? Them always having it, or the amount of time they have had it, or their loyalty to the team is not relevant to this situation. To be clear, I know next to nothing about this situation, just trying to clarify.  I have no dog in this fight and am emotionless on this topic. If you are breaking a rule, you do not get special treatment just because you have been here breaking it a long time.

      The team fell for that late season averageness he displayed last year and got burned. You want to do that again? I don’t.  But I sort of do agree that we are stuck with him as the starter.  I can’t decide whether replacing him gets us into the playoffs so suffering through one last season is the price for freedom in 2026.  Three ways to be free in 2026: He actually plays like a real NFL QB,  The team sends him packing. Be completely out on tne Panthers until changes are made.

      Short version = these people have had those seats since the beginning and haven't missed a game. They have always had their sign. They had to change the sign - I think in 2015 when Cam ripped that Packers fan's banner down (love him for that, by the way) - to be compliant and haven't had any issues in the last 10 years. The Panthers even used a photo of them and their sign in their album from the Falcons game. In the 3rd quarter last weekend it was decided that the sign needed to come down. Seems weird and unnecessary, especially since it has been there for every game for a decade.   EDIT: they've had it since 2003. Still a long-ass time.... Also "cringe" is a funny word for someone over the age of 18 who lives and overshares on the Huddle. But, ok....
