Tevin Coleman is as good as any or the Rbs listed except for Gurley. He's a junior but he probably will come out after this year. He gets no recognition because hes on a bad team.

another prospect i am interested in. love his size, and break away ability, he has showcased. has the potential to be a every down back, and is on my radar.

Yeah I didn't get to see much of that game either.  Yet from what I can tell, it looks like Peters did a good job on containing Strong.  Also, I believe Amari should be the first pick of the NFL draft, because he is definitely the best player.  When you try to project the kind of career these college athletes will have in the NFL, you look at their NFL readiness.  Cooper looks like an NFL receiver playing college ball.  Like if Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Smith, etc were allowed a year to play against college teams.  They would look a lot like Amari Cooper.

Did anyone get to see much of the Peters vs Strong matchup last night? I saw a highlight of Jaelen's TD but that was it.

i watched about a quarter and a half and Peters did a good job when i was watching. had tight man to man coverage vs him, and shadowed him the entire night. i did read that Strong caught a TD pass on him, but only had 3 catches with 8 targets. also read Peters dropped a pick.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
