Sold on the offensive line yet ?

You also have to consider the conditions of most of our run plays on Sunday. Everyone was expecting a "pass-to-run" offense but we actually "ran-to-pass". We mainly used our running plays to keep the front 7 honest and set up play action. That and running to manage the clock and protect a lead in the 2nd half (which I don't agree with) had a lot to do with the low YPC. I thought our run blocking looked serviceable to good. Most runs of less than 3 yd gain were just the Tampa LBs crashing the box on an inside run. You aren't going to get long runs up the middle if the LBs aren't dropping into coverage. We ran just enough to keep the LBs in the box. They committed to stopping our rush and that let DA go off. I think most of us are waiting a few weeks before we start leaning one way or another on the O-line.

Also, there were huge running lanes for DA on the read option.  The Bucs knew that he wasn't going to pull the ball out and they crashed down accordingly.

Small sample size, but other than the one sack, they didn't allow a single QB hurry. They also didn't allow any negative yardage runs. I think the constant rotation helped a lot, much like the defensive line.

Other than Folkers playing 2 snaps for Kalil, the only rotation was on the right side. Bell and Amini played the whole game.

If they can have another good showing against Suh, Fairley and Co. it would go a long way in selling me.  As of now, I'm just slightly above cautiously optimistic.

Suh is a beast. Ansah is athletic. But everyone else is decent to good. I don't think the Lions D-line is much better than the suks.

We should be able to continue what we started last week. Play solid, run fairly well, and protect the QB. Hopefully.
