Why the Hell is No One Knocking on Nelly's Door?

Here it is.  You have this grease ball swoop in and get with Hardy's ex why she's on the rebound.  The MOST disrespectful thing you can do to another man.  Then this scumbag has the balls to host the Hornet's party?  MJ needs to put a muzzle on that quick.  I'll never stop being a Hornets fan but this is a bad move that we'll make many Panther/ Hornet fans not even want to be at Buzz Fest.  I know I have 0 interest in supporting that party if they're going to use Nelly as their primary sales engine.

I think, like many on here, you are overreacting to the situation. No need to read too much into stuff and make it more than what it already is.

You might be right.

I just don't think it's right for this guy to experience 0 negative back draft for doing one of the worst things you can do to another person.

And no I don't think MJ is trying to create a rivalry.  I just think that it's going to limit the support.

This is the first time I've seen anyone connect Buzzfest with Greg Hardy. Talk about a reach...I completely forgot Nelly was even involved in that case.

Jeebus. We are such a young, innocent fanbase. We beg for media attention then when we get it and it's not positive we cry foul and start making threads like this (nothing against you because this is not the only overreaction thread on here.)

And ONCE AGAIN, it's just another "we need to blame someone other than Greg Hardy" thread. The sooner we start pointing the finger at the right person for putting himself in this situation, the sooner we can all enjoy this pretty darn good football season that we have going right now.

I don't think Greg by any stretch is innocent and he should face the consequences for the actions he brought upon himself.

I just don't think that Holder or Nelly is innocent either.

Would you be pissed if Nelly swooped in and slept with your girlfriend while you were "broken up" for less then a week?

I can understand why Hardy was pissed off.  Nelly was WRONG for what he did too.  Hardy DID let his emotions get the best of him, but I completely understand why he was pissed.

It absolutely DOES make me lose respect for Nelly and it was a distasteful choice by the Hornets to utilize Nelly at buzz fest in simultaneous conjunction with the Hardy media uproar.

You are the only one making that connection and blaming Nelly for doing something that sounds like it's out of the plot line of a teenage ABC Family drama.

Even if that mattered, Buzzfest is at the end of October. Even The Golden Calf of Bristol and the Bounty gate stories burned out eventually. The longer Rice and Hardy stay away from the field, the less you'll hear about them to the point where Hardys appeal will probably barely register.

Well it's honestly the first thing I thought about when I visited the Hornets page and saw it.  I might be the first to post it on the huddle, but if I saw that connection chances are others will to.

I am not going to let Nelly be a buzzkill (PUN!) for what will become the big story in the Charlotte area (opening night) because of Greg Hardy.

It doesn't diminish my excitement for the Hornets at all.  I know I'm gonna try to be there on opening night.

I just don't get the Nelly promotion at this time.  If it's in November they should have waited to drop his name until after this Hardy thing as blown over.  I don't want to even think about Nelly being a buzzkill, and that's my point.  Thought should have never been planted.

Nelly is a superstar and he's a minority owner why wouldn't they want him hosting. They don't need to be thinking about Greg. I doubt Nelly & Hardy are even the slightest friends so I don't see where the foul play is dude. Girls like her obviously throw themselves at athletes and entertainers. He had some cooch thrown and he snatched it. He probably didn't have to initiate it or work for it at all. This ain't on him. I'll admit you do have a beautiful mind though. I hope you use it to your advantage in life but this in my opinion is reading way too much into it.

Appreciate the compliment?

It's just weird out of everyone you can use for Buzzfest you choose the one guy tied to the Hardy case.

Truth is stranger then fiction.

It's purely coincidental. Buzzfest was announced the day the name changed. As lindsey said, this is about the Hornets, not Nelly.

    • Dennis Rodman’s son lands Summer League shot with the Hornets   The Charlotte Hornets are coming off a promising 2025 NBA Draft class and will enter Summer League with no shortage of new faces looking to make an impression. But the most interesting addition didn’t come from the draft board. Instead, it’s DJ Rodman — the 24-year-old son of Hall of Famer and five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman — who’s bringing some extra attention to the Hornets’ Summer League roster. Rodman played four years at Washington State before making the move to USC for his final season.  He wasn’t exactly lighting it up with the Trojans, putting up about 6 points, four boards, and an assist each game. But he did shoot well — hitting around 41% from the field and draining 36% of his three-pointers.  Standing 6-foot-6, he’s got the size to play on the wing and offers some versatility, which could be just what the Hornets are looking for as they try to fill out their roster. The Hornets’ Summer League squad already has plenty of fresh faces with this year’s draft picks and young guys fighting for a role. But Rodman’s last name alone is enough to turn heads, and now he’ll get his shot to prove he belongs once the games tip off in Vegas. Charlotte’s Summer League team is already drawing interest with recent draft picks and young players hoping to crack the rotation. But Rodman’s last name — and his potential to bring energy and toughness — adds another layer of intrigue. What Rodman lacks in college stats, he makes up for with hustle and competitiveness — traits his dad was known for throughout his Hall of Fame career. If he can bring that same energy and show growth in Summer League, he could carve out a role and surprise some people. Though the odds are against him making the Hornets’ final roster, there’s no denying the spotlight that comes with the Rodman name. The Hornets kick off Summer League next week in Las Vegas.   Dennis Rodman’s son lands Summer League shot with the Hornets
    • At this point, I only care what he does in 2025.
    • Question to the posters on this thread because you are knowledgeable--I love watching and pull for the Canes, but I never played so I don't have the understanding I had when I played football then watched it.  Having said that, Do you think we are weak at Center?  I see the team to be pretty strong on the wings, promising defense, and weak at Goalie.  It would be ideal if the Canes had 1 more position to upgrade, not 2.  I don't think you can count on Anderson to play a full season and he is 35.  However, are we solid at Center in your view?
