Not building up the foundation of any team by placing draft priority on Oline talent will sink your ship no matter what level of skill positions you throw money at......

 

......its like investing an a yacht with gold plating furnishings on deck and your hull under the water is rusty and full of holes............

 

and you can build a first class Oline far more economically than you can any other area of a football team too.........

 

Too bad its all show and no go with drafting these days.......

Lol at the GMan hate. Overall he has done a fantastic job. 

 

However, his fug up(s) are quite big. 

 

The biggest being the complete neglect of the OT situation. 

 

You must do a better job scouting OT's and taking flyers late. 

 

The Hurst pick should have been a complete no brainer. Dude held his own when he went up against Clowney in college. 

 

It's not neglect he exhibited, it's inability.

 

There was all but nothing out there, and DG has a plan for long term success.  12 - 4 may have been the worst thing to happen last year.

 

Personally, I would rather us have a down year, unload some more bad contracts, and not hamstring us with a bad free agent signing.

 

 

All goes back to Hurney never having a long term outlook for this team.  Cordy Glenn vs. Amini selection.

Just thought about how bad a gm Gettleman was this offseason.

 

He franchised Hardy. Drafted his replacement in the 2nd round.

 

One problem that 2nd rd pick doesn't even see the field.

 

Hey and I didn't even mention the Smitty and Oline disaster he ignored.

      Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.

      Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
