The NFC South Is Wide Open

I made a thread about it months ago, the O-Line might just be the most important aspect of an elite team.

i am already convinced. i can still see how scheming and proper execution can make up for the deficiency, but having the talent trumps the scheme/execution

Go back and look at the highlights Cam makes with his feet. He's always been a run-last qb, despite whatever nonsense people wanted to spout about him. The decline is because the line isn't holding up long enough for him to run last.

so Cam runs after having 5+ seconds in the pocket? thats not what ive seen over his career. the man runs when his instinct tells him to, whether that is 1 second or 6 seconds after the snap

We've been watching two different players then. He runs when he's out of options unless it's a designed run, regardless of the pressure. Look at the highlight run against the Patriots last year. Three defenders don't miss tackles behind the line because Cam's first instinct is to run.

i think perhaps we are saying the same thing two different ways. i dont think Cam goes through each snap feeling an instinct to run. I do believe he goes through his reads most of the time, but sometimes i dont think he does. sometimes it appears (or at least it used to) that even if he hadnt looked at half the field, he would tuck it and run because he felt the pressure, or just saw a hole he could exploit with his legs. i do believe that Cam can and does go through his reads when given the time, but i also think it is in his nature to tuck it and run when his instinct tells him to do so, which isnt always after making 3-4 reads...
