-Steelers favored by 3 at home

-Pittsburgh has won its last 15 Monday-night home games, an NFL record.

-Ben Roethlisberger is 5-0 at home in his career on Monday nights.

-#2 rusher in NFL vs #3 rusher in NFL: Pittsburgh's Le'Veon Bell ranks second in the league with 542 rushing yards, just ahead of third-place Arian Foster (513 yards). Arian Foster has ran for 100 yards in four of his five games, Le'Veon Bell has recorded at least 100 scrimmage yards in his first six games this season, joining DeMarco Murray as the only players to accomplish that.

Deepi Sidhu @DeepSlant

Every camera in this place is pointed at Clowney right now.

Fake John McClain @FakeJohnMcClain

Clowney just ran again. Now he's coughing. Now he just

wiped his left eye. Now he's smiling. Now he's not smiling.

Smiling again.

Fake John McClain @FakeJohnMcClain

Clowney just ran from 1 sideline to another. Now's he talking to Vrabel. Now he's adjusting he sock. Now's he re positioning his dreads.

John McClain @McClain_on_NFL

Clowney is doing some running drills on the field. Cameras

are shooting him every second.

John McClain @McClain_on_NFL

Dr. Walter Lowe, trainer Geoff Kaplan and LB coach Mike

Vrabel are watching Clowney closely.

Clowney just ran from one sideline to another. Now he's

talking with Vrabel.

Then he ran across the field again. Now he's walking back.

John McClain @McClain_on_NFL

Clowney just ran his fourth sprint across the field.

John McClain @McClain_on_NFL

There's six sprints across the field for Clowney.

John McClain @McClain_on_NFL

Clowney has finished running. I haven't changed my opinion: I don't expect him to play. It should be official soon.

John McClain @McClain_on_NFL

The Texans will be wise to keep Clowney out to give him

another week to get ready. No need to rush him

inactive for Steelers:

starting 3-4 NT Steve McLendon

starting 3-4 ILB Ryan Shazier

starting CB Ike Taylor

With Cam Thomas at nose tackle, the Steelers are allowing 6.0 YPC in 2014. With Steve McLendon at NT, they're allowing 4.3

Steelers Depot:

While McLendon may not command double teams the way Casey Hampton once did, the difference is that he is able to beat his individual blockers and make many plays on his own. Thomas does not. In fact, he has a propensity to get blown off the ball, even when he’s not the last player out of his stance at the snap.

The Steelers may turn to rookie sixth-round draft pick Daniel McCullers to absorb some of those snaps. The problem is that he is probably not best suited for handling an experienced zone blocking scheme when so much of his early success has been predicated on winning his individual battles through sheer size and strength.

He may be able to block off a running lane or two, but overall, there’s a strong chance that he’s simply rendered a non-factor.

We saw last week that the Browns’ running game picked up in the second half after McLendon exited the game with a shoulder injury. We now appear to be set for a full game of that nature, unless the nose tackle’s replacements can exceed expectations.

    • I think we pick it up and then someone else ends up emerging as the QB next year and we end up cutting him in year 5 and eating it.  That would be the most on brand thing to happen.
    • Evero has his faults, but even in that loss, the team only gave up 20 points. Your post gets to the heart of the matter. We are not a talented team on defense at this time. Some of our younger guys may develop w/more playing time, but for now we have no impact players at LB or EDGE. We could really use a ball-hawking S on the back end as well. We have exactly two players that have to be accounted for on every play, D. Brown, and J.Horn. Mike Jackson has been solid. The other starters would probably be backups on most the upper echelon NFL teams. We really can't expect this team to a Top 10 defense with such a lack of talent. All things considered I've been somewhat impressed with how much better they have played this year.   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-points-per-game   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-average-team-passer-rating We are in the top 15 in terms of points allowed per game (22.6) and top 12 in defensive passer rating (88.9). And, we are doing this without a formidable PASS RUSH. Even our rushing defense has improved. We are #16 in rushing yards allowed per game (116) compared to 179 per game last season. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-rushing-yards-per-game I wouldn't cry if Evero moved on after the season, but his defense isn't the biggest worry for our team.
    • The funny part is she looks older and not in a good way...
