Cris Carter is saying Favre WILL start in this weekend's preseason game. WOW!!!

I'm convinced that Favre could take a dump in a bag, light it on fire in the middle of the locker room and that Brad Childress would be willing to dive on it naked if it would ensure that he would play for the team.

Like I said, Childress and Favre remind me of the class nerd an the class homecoming queen respectively 20 years later at the reunion. The class nerd is thinking OMGWTFBBQ the homecoming queen is TALKING TO ME!!!! The nerd doesn't realize the homecoming queen ain't what she was 20 years ago and wasn't even all that then, just a big fish in a small pond. The homecoming queen is using the nerd to feel like she is still all that even though in reality she hasn't turned many heads in years.

I think this move sinks the Vikes and Chilly.

Cuz you can bet his holiness aint gonna just hand off to purple jesus like he should.

I'm not convinced he'll look as bad as he did in the latter part of the year with the Jets. The Vikes surround him with a much better team than the Jets did.

That's the practical side.

On the character side, I used to have loads of respect for Favre. I lost a significant portion of it when he went through all the histrionics that took him to the Jets. What little I might have had left is pretty much gone now.

Even if he manages to lead the Vikes to a Super Bowl, I still can't bring myself to respect him as I once did. This whole deal has just been too much.

    • I am no football savant as has been demonstrated here over and over, but I saw it.  I went for years doing the mock draft thing and researching the players that we might get around our pick, time consuming stuff. And we would get to the draft and trade the pick. All that time, wasted.  So I quit doing that. Also realized I was not a scout and would never be a scout and went to looking the videos and reports After  we picked a guy.  Maybe I would look at the 1st round, but quit that too and just looked after we picked.    When they did that trade I saw Bryce and his size and just ruled him out. Then it got to yeah they are probably going to take him, I relented and looked at some video and got to his pro day. It took me all of a few minutes to see the issues. The footwork. The arm. And the tape of games? The backyard style. I knew, what can I say?  (Also, went down the physical checklist, not a single plus attribute on the NFL level. Arm, speed, size, etc, nothing to offset the negatives. nothing)  I think it was easy for me because I had not watched a single game he played in college, and wasn’t drawn in by the hype. Had no preconceived notions and just looked at it pretty clinically.  I got in here and everyone was going “but look at what he did in college! It is the SEC, if he can do it in the SEC he can do it in the NFL!” Couldn’t reason with hardly anyone.  I don’t think I could tell you which guy would succeed between two prototypical guys with great arms and athleticism, and have no special insight into any of that. My one calling in football scouting was to see the real about what we were about to do. And you still don’t know for sure until they get in a real game in the NFL.
    • Miss Bryce sorely is possibly the most hilarious statement I have read on the Huddle in quite some time.
    • He did only throw 1 pass 20+ in that game. I think he is still struggling to adjust to the NFL. At Alabama he was able to extend plays and play backyard football. That's not only not the style of offense we have been running but his physical skills don't lend themselves to that style of play at this level.  So, the amount of issues he actually has to clean up are WAAAAAY more than I anticipated as a guy that had Bryce #1 on my board in that draft class.  I am just not seeing a reasonable path for him to clean it all up and develop in a reasonable timeframe
