Ron Rivera's Coaching Hires (and Fires)

That is a good question. Why is Ramsdell here? To help Shula, Cam or in case Shula struggles to have him in the wings. I wonder if he wants to be in charge of this group after the players he has worked with. Exactly what is a special assistant anyway. And since he has always been a quarterback coach and never an OC I wonder if he wants to take over Shula's role or even Dorsey. I wonder what Cam thinks and wants. Does he get to pick his coach or at least have input.? I don't know.

 

RE: Ramsdell - the last time I remember him even interviewing for an OC job was when he got one from us in 06 after Cameron got the MIA HC job (which went to Shelmon). I'm surprised his name didn't come up more for interviews after then, given his Martz/Turner connections.

As a fan/casual observer, it's hard to differentiated bad talent with bad coaching. Just offhand though, I'd say that the following coaches need to be fired:

 

Mike Shula, OC

Richard Rodgers, ST

John Matsko, OL

Steve Wilks, DBs
