16 assists for the hornets. Kemba with another of his usual performances shooting under 40%, getting torched by his man, and dishing out 3 whole assists.

Well guys, that's three really bad contracts on the team now. But this one is on the books quite a bit longer.

Those contracts don't look good right now but the important thing is they are movable, especially after the new cap kicks in. Part of the reason we signed Lance was because the deal is so easy to get out of if the experiment fails since we held all the leverage.

If we wanted to make deals involving the three contracts I think you're referring to, Lance and Marvin will be on one year contracts next season (because of Lances team option) for combined expirings of 16 million. Assuming Gerald opts in this offseason he also brings the expirings for 2016 to upwards of 20 million. Those are valuable trade chips regardless of their play on the court.

As far as Kemba is concerned, Jeremy Lin was dealt to the Lakers with a worse contract in this cap, so even though it was a bit of an overpay there would be a market for him if we wanted to move him. Teams like Sacramento love to acquire assets that have diminished in value so they can sell them high, hence bringing in Rudy Gay and being interested in the albatross of Josh Smith and out of place Rajon Rondo.

No way you're going to win consistently or a lot of games if you starting PG is dishing out 3 assists. PG is the most important position in the game.

Wow guys, and again I'm correct!!!!

Just fuggn listen to me and quit being a homer.

Kemba is a mediocre NBA PG who is overpaid. So, stop living with the past Kemba Walker of UCONN!

Omg thank you carolina chuck. You're the only person who's ever expressed this opinion about Kemba. Can you tell me the winning lottery numbers too??

    • Watched the recent Mic'd up which had the Bucs game. This angle makes that fumble look so much worse, pretty sure it was inbetween Bryce's hands.   bbb.mp4
    • Here is what you did not mention (and I have not read the thread--but will--it is a needed) and that is the MAFF.  He is in a contract year (2026-5th year) and we will not know (in all likelihood) how the knee is healing by the time we have to decide on a mega deal.   If you consider the time it takes to fully heal is 12 months if all goes well, the injury is known to shorten careers.  Of course, a man of 330 lbs who needs agility to perform at a high level makes the injury a bit more serious than it was for Jimmy Graham, for example, who recovered in a remarkable 9 months.  Having said all that, I think he should be moved inside to guard.   While many NFL linemen can return to play after patellar tendon surgery, studies show a significant failure rate and reduced performance, with return-to-play (RTP) rates often cited around 50-56%, meaning roughly 44-50% don't make it back, and even those who do often see reduced careers and statistics, highlighting it as a devastating injury for linemen." I think you have to go after an elite OT, and I think it should be a first rounder because you don't sign elite LTs in free agency.  Ickey is already going to get paid $18m or so in 2026.    However, the money you save by not locking him down long term could go to a free agent edge or ILB.  It is very complicated if you start factoring in contracts, risks, cap, and the odds of recovery.
    • Yes, we played the 2nd most cover 3 in the NFL behind the Raiders.   The flats and seams are the areas you want to attack it so its soft spots are areas qbs can hit quickly which can definitely hurt the pass rush.
