Update: Situation

 

CULVER CITY, Calif. (KABC) --

A wild police chase out of Palmdale ended in Culver City, and the driver was believed to be on a rooftop.

A perimeter was set up near Lucerne Avenue and Lafayette Place. The suspect appeared to be on a roof in the 9600 block of Lucerne Avenue.

The high-speed chase began on the 14 Freeway at about 12:45 p.m. Police chased the white SUV on the southbound 14 Freeway, the 5, the 170, and then the 101 Freeway at speeds topping 100 mph at times.

The vehicle exited the 101 Freeway at Melrose Avenue and was on multiple surface streets in the Mid-City area, the Palms area and Culver City.

It's unclear how the chase began.
