Lets talk about Seattle

Recommended Posts

Seattle's DBs are capable of making us one dimensional.

On the other hand it's going to be 20 degrees and snow in GB next weekend.

We are already pretty damn one dimensional.

I will take the team with the worse off run D and who plays the TE poorly.

I hate to put this all on one guys shoulders but it comes down to how Cam plays.  If he plays like he did on Monday Night against the Pats last year I think we can really win this game, if he plays like he did last night not so much.  This offense flows through Cam and it requires the passing game to get going or they simply start loading the boxes.  If we can take advantage of what defenses give us then this offense will suffocate.

Seattle will harass him all night and make things difficult and if Cam can play his best game of the season I don't think we move on.  The defense should do ok as long as they can contain Wilson and limit the gains in their running game.  Of course both those things are extremely difficult to do but i think the defense is definitely up to the task.

Offense will be key, if we control the clock and put TD's on the board and take care of the ball i think we can win but the margin for error is so dangerously thin when playing in Seattle, Cam will need to be perfect.

Biggest difference.....Deangelo Williams won't be the starting RB.  Last year's home opener fumble inside the 5 yard line was huge.  Can't wait to see how Seattle's defense reponds to a full game of JStew coming at them.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
