Hornets @ Knicks 1/10

Omega Atrocity

Today is the last day we can waive him. He isn't guaranteed until 12:01 am tomorrow. As far as the 10 day thing, yeah we could do that, but 10 day contracts are basically an audition, so there really is no reason to. We already know what Maxiell is.

I was thinking of them using the 10 days possible 2with him until Al comes back

This team was completely healthy a month ago and they looked like they had no confidence. Completely demoralized. They would lead by 20 and lose by 10. Now with all the injuries they are playing well. It makes no sense.

This is why metric stats were created. They explain the things that make no sense.

This is why Al Jefferson is such a conundrum. He can't protect the rim causing defensive breakdowns since McBob is there and offensively he stops the ball and isolates which clogs the lane taking away the strengths of Kemba, MKG, and Gerald who work best cutting through the post. His stat line doesn't tell the whole story when he plays.

And then cutting him lose for an open roster spot? That's possible.

Yep that's how I was thinking. He's knows he was signed here for more of a mentorship role in the beginning. Things just kinda fell apart where he got more playing time then even he was expecting.

I liked the Maxiell signing because he wanted to be here and would be a post version of Pargo, but it's a case where even though he has the right idea mentally, physically he just can't make those plays that he used to and he ends up doing more harm than good

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
