If Cam threw 4 interceptions in a game...

Every game has it's own set of angles and outcomes. Each one is different.

i still have no idea how you got from "would you rather have stats or wins" to that

here's just a shot in the dark re: "angles and outcomes" : i think it's ludicrous to look at this game and think that wilson deserves a ton of credit when there were like five or six improbable things that had to happen (triggered by the performances of other units on the team mostly) to even give him the shot to do what he did.  that's not a bunch of hypothetical grabass, those are just facts.

They defend Cam like he's their wife. Complimenting any other young QB is a slap in the face to Cam. If another young QB has a bad game, somehow it has something to do with Cam. Wait till after this game ends. "If Cam would have played like Luck played today, analysts would be killing him."

Why does it matter so much?

hey here's a wild concept.  make sure your seatbelts are buckled!  okay, here we go:

why are you even here if not to discuss the NFL and its players

The ball bounced their way. No question. But Wilson could have screwed it up but didn't. In my book he isn't the mvp today. It was coaching.

Chance favors the prepared man. But when it mattered most Wilson came thru. This isn't golf where your mistakes are more pronounced.

we saw a case study in that today with wilson's performance

That is precisely why I'm here.

Just strange to me is all. The vast majority of this site seem more like Cam fans than Panther fans. Panther fans will literally throw every other person on the team under the bus to stick up for Cam. How many times in this thread has it been thrown around about Wilsons great defense being able to keep them in the game? While I completely understand that the Hawks have one of the best defenses we've seen in quite some time, the Panthers have had one of the top defenses in the NFL the last couple years.

Just last week, the defense held the team in the game, despite 2 turnovers, only to have Cam throw a pick 6 to seal it. Strangely, everyone here did nothing but make excuses.

To be fair, it's why I don't post on SR much. The Brees slobbering is unreal. They don't believe he can do any wrong. I'm of the belief he cost us a number of games this year, but it is what it is I guess. It's just on a whole other level here.

There's nothing wrong with Wilson being any of these things.

What Panther fans have a problem with, are the absurd double standards and omissions when it comes to Newton, compared to other QB's.

that's the main thing here and a lot of the "durr cam huggers" people don't even consider that

look if i didn't give a poo what other people thought about the panthers/the NFL in general i wouldn't even post on this forum.  i doubt anyone else would either and it's just a given that these topics are going to come up especially with the ubiquitous nature of sports radio and TV coverage.

i mean we all operate with our biases because we're panthers fans. i doubt the saints fan hanging out in this topic is completely objective about drew brees.  but the way to fight bias isn't to go full retard in the other direction so that you're just as bad as the "nut huggers" you're supposedly going to war against.

    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
