Now says in USA Today (link) that it was an "error in judgment" but with this caveat:

"Me punting the ball away was definitely frustration," he said. "But when I was walking, fixing my pants, that was blown out of proportion."

Riiiiiight. And I suppose the whole thing of batting away the passes thrown at him was just because he needed to practice preventing interceptions

What a big baby. He deserves to be suspended.

IMO That's because Shanny tolerated a lot of ish.

Mark Schlereth even said (vis a vis how Vikes players won't trust Chilly after all this Favre BS)how players took what he said with a grain of salt after he kept saying over and over, "WE WOULD NEVER TOLERATE A CRIMINAL LIKE DALE CARTER ON THIS TEAM" and then promptly went out and signed the guy.

If Mickey D has learned anything from BB it should be that it's not wise to lie to your players. BB does not. It's one of the first things FAs and even guys (Ty "the diva" Law & Bledsoe in 2001 notwithstanding, they were FOS) who aren't Pats anymore etc. bring up about him, is that he shoots straight with them always.

    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
    • Definitely epic tv..... A man who wont cheat for a poke dont want one bad enough.
