^^Yeah, Geathers could be very good

1-LT (High draft pick Rd 1-3)

2-WR2 (Draft pick Rd 1-4)

3-CB2/3 (Draft pick)

4-SS (FA or Draft, Searcy)

5-RB2/3 (Draft pick)

Almost made the list: Guard depth, Tackle depth, another CB, OLB

With Green Bay already signing Cobb to a hefty contract I think it's possible we could get either Bulaga or Tramon Williams if we really wanted to.

WR- Denarius Moore, Strong, DGB, Greene, Hardy

OT- Bulaga, Flowers, Collins, Erving, Fisher

CB- Tramon Williams, Marcus Peters, Kevin Johnson, Darby, Rowe

S- Gerod Holliman, best cover safety in the draft. 14 ints replacing Pryor. Also a very capable returner.

DE- Dupree, Odighizuwa, Orchard

These are just players at each position that I would be happy with if we got (not much to choose from at S, not a fan of Collins). I generally listed them from FAs to draft in order of value. I do think it's possible that we can get a couple guys off this list and I would be very happy if we do so.

With Free Agency only HOURS away, what do you see as the Panthers Top 5 needs to make the next big step? And who (FA or Draft) do you want to fill said spots?

Here's what I have in mind:

1. WR2- T. Smith, Strong, or J. Hardy

2. OT- Bulaga, Flowers, or D.J. Humphries

3. S- Nate Allen, Draft BPA in 4th

4. CB- Cromartie, R. Darby

5. DE- Derrick Morgan, B. Orakpo

I know some of this is wishful thinking, and probably not got a chance in hell of happening. But it's fun to dream.

Share your Top 5.

Lol thanks. It's been super busy at work lately and being the offseason and all... If pretty much been demoted to "lurker" status. But with today being such a big NFL day. Thought I might chime in a little. Maybe, once it slows down here at work I can churn out some Photoshop Wizardry (NO NOT ADOPT-A-PANTHER SIGS). Until then I shall vanish back into the shadows. I seen myself like this... I'm the poster the Huddle deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So y'all will hunt me. Because I can take it. Because I'm not your hero. I'm a silent Huddler, a watchful illustrator. A dark photoshoping-mfing-knight. I'm M3OWMAN!!!

I've adopted that nickname. Notice the 3 in M3OW. Much easier than trying to get the cubed symbol to type out on various venues.

Hard to change a nickname once I've given one, tho. Sort of like still calling someone Squirt after they graduate high school.

    • Possible, he is physical and a forchecker but not a needle mover, but i wouldnt mind it, although I think we have enough 4th line grinders right now between Carrier Robinson and Janakowski  down there, i actually really love our 4th line.            We need scoring in the top 6, and a RHD at this point its definitely coming via trade.            Rasmus Andersson I hear may be on the market, it feels like every couple of seasons someone links us to Erik Karlsson.       As far as centers go,  Marco Rossi (even though we have a ton of smurf already)     Jordan Kyrou is an intriguing option if he is available.           At this point i think Rod should just move Jarvis to his natural center position to give us a 1B center...   yes hes also a smurf but he plays way bigger than he is stylistically.

    • The problem with these summary stats and rankings is that they flatten out progression and assume an even performance throughout the year. His first 3 or 4 games of the season don't really tell you anything about his current level of capacity but more about where he started and what his floor was last year. Given his last several games were against playoff teams, that gives you an idea of his current ability coming into the season. But it will serve more as a floor than a ceiling given the upgrade in talent on offense. And a better defense should give us more stops which results in shorter fields and more opportunities. And going into his third year there is no reason to suspect he will regress. His success wasn't  based on being superhuman but being smart and taking what was the defense was giving him. Distributing to the other guys not trying to do it on his own. He was great at the end when pressured and consistently moved the ball. That makes him a great game manager which is what we need. Something that is easier to do and relies on everyone else rather than having to be a top physical specimen or do it on his own. No one can predict the future but to say we haven't improved much is crazy given just having the Browns anchoring the defensive line will shut down the run and make sure QBs won't be stepping up in the pocket.  Assuming Evero got the message to can the prevent defense and bend until you break philosophy.
