Diesel engines and mileage

I've already done the research and the math.

Even with diesel costing more than than gas, it's still the better value, and you'll benefit from it every time you fuel up.

Diesels rock. Once you've experienced a good application of it, you'd never go back to gas.

It's a shame that americans still are so ignorant on the issue, that most manufacturers don't offer diesels in every make of vehicle.

A modern diesel is very quiet too.

If ya just trade in your car/truck every few years, then no, a diesel is not for you.

Although, if your willing to commit to a car for a long time, then there is no better way to go IMO.

Edit: I will add that not all gas stations diesel markup is the same. Many will try to take advantage of their convenient location, and have a higher markup on their diesel. It's worth the time to be observant while driving, and find out which stations to avoid, and which ones have the least markup.
