Question for my beloved Panther fan friends

with so much guaranteed money, are you concerned at all about Cam's playing style with regards to longevity etc?

With any quarterback there is always injury concern, especially one that runs. However, Cam is built like a tank and has played in 65 games out of 67. I'm not concerned about it.

RG3 will disagree!  Cam obviously plays a very agressive style and he's willing to take the big hit to make the big play, but how long can that last?

Seriously, how often have you seen him play?

Because other than taking a couple of nasty hits under the chin in the pocket (that should have been flagged but weren't), I've never seen Cam take "the big hit" running the ball in 4 years with Carolina and one year at Auburn. He seems to be preternaturally aware of his surroundings when he's on the run, more so than when he's in the pocket.

Can you name one of these times Cam has taken "the big hit" while running the ball?

I think Mebane is a beast.  I also really like Kearse and I hope he gets more opportunity to show his abilities and if he does, I'm sure he will climb up my list and many others as well.  Okung has just been so inconsistent and the injuries etc.  We are a better team when he is playing for sure.  Irvin has been a bust in my opinion and his attitude sucks.  Lane, I love Lane and the efforts he puts in and yes, that was him with the horrific injury against GB.  I just think he's more replacable than some of the others based on the other guys back there.

When saints4life mentioned the #2 CB being replaced easily, it clicked like "oh yeah, Seattle's been doing that". Kearse was underrated by our secondary in the playoffs and he made us pay, can't argue that he doesn't have ability. Mebane's on the wrong side of 30, tho. He have gas in the tank or running on fumes?

Gotta agree here. Cam's ankle was messed up from being landed on wrong in the pocket. His ribs got hurt pre-season Patriots game when he was in the pocket. His back was messed up in the pocket of his truck crash. Cam hasn't been hurt outside the pocket yet.

You should come to Charlotte and watch a practice so you can see Cam up close. The man is a goddamn mutant. He's built like a tank.

been there a few times...not for practice, but yes...Cam is a beast for sure.  Think too many people are taking my question out of context.  He's a very large man, and a great athlete...and that's how he plays.  I was only curious to see if fans were concerned that his current style of play was a concern for the long run.

I sure hope Mebane does...he's a big piece of the team.  Kearse has the ability to become a solid #2 for the Seahawks.

and I admitted that my vision of Cam is obviously tainted by the fact that most of what I've seen of him is SC highlights.

Didn't RG3's knee problems start from hits in the pocket? Then the one that ruined him was a hit in the pocket vs. the Seahawks in the playoffs...

Am I remembering correctly?

Enough of a solid #2 that with teh Jimmay, RW will pass for more yards than Cam?

damn...tough call...but I will say yes.  Even with that man Lynch carrying the ball, Jimmy is a game changer and I still think your O-Line needs work.

I could have sworn i'd read that Cam's ankle issues date back to college. Cam's rib injury happened on a scramble when he fell down instead of sliding in the open field, not the pocket.

main question mark is at LT, the other four spots played very well late in the season. Hell, even Bell played pretty well once we solidified the LG spot with Norwell. Norwell, Kalil and Turner, at least last year brought everything together and Remmers played good once he got an opportunity. IF, a big if, Oher can be an average LT, our line should be good enough to keep Cam upright and lead a good rushing attack. Stewart was a top 3 back the last quarter of the season, although he is a question mark himself when it comes to his durability. And you can't underestimate a healthy Cam with a healthy ankle and what that will do for his confidence along with overall play.

Pot vs. kettle? Was going to say the same about your O-Line without Unger. Gotta go with Cam btw. We have speed WR to stretch the field now, unlike last year. Cam and Ginn hooked up for some long TDs 2 years ago, and I see it happening again.

Cam played 3 years with his ankle not being 100%, but it was hurt to the point of needing surgery in the 2013 season. As far as the ribs, I remember the play as Cam getting tackled from behind around where his right tackle was and a Patriot hitting him in the ribs when he was down or very close to being down.

    • They made sure to not give him any competition at QB with that lame ass UDFA selection. I swear they pick the tallest shittiest qb's in camp to make it look like height is not the problem lol
