4-4

I have noticed over the last few games and tonight that when we went into a 4-4 defense WE DID PRETTY DAMN GOOD.

I had to listen to the game, but remember having a lot of confidence in our ability when Mixon would say "Panthers line up in the 4-4 on defense".....

What say you guys?

I dont expect us to go to this defense, but I think its a GREAT wrinkle....

i think as good as connor is the 4-4 would be a nice option on short yardage but mostly goaline situations.

how would Beason fit in a 3-4 like Peppers wants to play in? Is he only made for a 4-3 Defense?

Imagine if they could get someone like Brandon Spikes out of Florida next year.

was just thinking about Spikes mostly, hometown boy and also has alot of potential. he's got an attitude about winning like Steve Smith, which we need more of on the Defense badly. I think he'll be a stud in NFL, probably top 5 pick next year though

yeah we just aren't built for a 3-4 and obviously have no plans to ever be a 3-4 under Fox/Hurney

Spikes would be awesome though, I think New England has their eye on him but don't know how they get into top 10 to draft him next season.

LOL at that one. Peppers will not be worth the 20 million it will cost to keep him next year. Next year in FA we can get Aaron Kampmon DE Brandon Marshall WR and Richard Seymour DT for that amount of Cash. :patriot:

The point is that, even if Fox/Hurney would like to switch to a 3-4 D#, we should change 50% of the D#.

Depends with Peppers, he will be humbled by his market value next season. So if we let him walk, and we offer a little more will he still leave?

No way anyone pays him close to $20 Million unless we are stupid enough to franchise him again.

With the insane speed that Thomas Davis has, we can actually pull off a 4-4 as a base set, but there's no point, we're still better off with a cover-2 4-3 front.
