The Panthers suck right now, no ifs ands or buts about it.

No team is going to look good while playing with a procession of their key players missing tons of time.

We play the kind of football in the regular season that hurts. We simply do not advocate playing that style in the preseason when there is nothing to gain by pounding the rock three straight times. 3 yards and a cloud of dust is not preseason football, you save that kind of grind for when it counts.

You don't air out passes to Steve Smith because he's going to elevate and potentially get hurt. There is no Steve Smith playing at 90%. He's a player you have to protect from himself. Same goes for Beason. When you have the choice, you keep these guys as far away from the field as you can in the preseason.

What we saw was an exhibition on why we're NOT a passing squad. Everybody throws the ball in the preseason because the chances are good that nobody gets hurt that way. Running squads always look bad in the preseason.

It's like watching the pro bowl and expecting a big hit. Sorry, man, you're watching the wrong game if you're trying to see that. Same goes for our running game in the preseason. We're not going to bust our balls and risk injury by pounding the rock with DeAngelo and Stewart the way we would in the regular season. We're not going to give Smith 10 catches and smoke routes.

EVERY conventional way that our team moves the ball was compromised by injury this preseason. I have no idea what people expected to see, but we saw it. These were four teams that won 11 or more games last year. We weren't going to pass all over them.

Seriously, preseason or not, as a team we have looked pathetic.

PRE-season... hmm what could that meen?

No game planning...check

No S.Smith For the Majority...check

No jon beason.... check

No Thomas Davis... check

Dwill gets like 10 carries the entire time...check

No Jstew....check

Thomas Davis and Jon Beason back will make the defence worlds better, plus we will play more than 3 coverages...

Mark it Panthers 34 Eagles 21

Right so your telling me not having the two best sure tacklers on our team out there isn't going to help, yah sure... they wont have to tackle nearly as much, :dita: plus sorry to tell you not everyone is steve smith most of them you can tell were not giving there best effort... it is PRE SEASON

lol what was the excuse for the 2nd half of last season with almost all the same players

Pretty much the only two people i will downright say cant tackle are godfrey (dont get me started) and gamble...

But seriously the tackling was terrible but the majority of the preseason we played with 2 backup lb's and some of it all 3 were out... go back and look the guys missing tackles were back-ups for the most part... tackling isn't really the issue its keeping blockers off our LB's by putting big body's in front of them, leonard is off to a good start he looks like he can draw double teams..

what in the world are you talking about

did you miss ray rice running all over the first team? did you miss the steelers 15th string running back prancing over us last night?

are you so determined to cheer for a winning team that you're willing to imagine something on the field that isn't happening?

oh you're high okay that's all you had to say

no tackling is not an issue. with our completely vanilla scheme that we don't have the personnel for, i'm sure our mean personalities and harsh language will make the other players fall over.

    • Apparently CSW lost his starting job to Thornton last year. If he can stay healthy I bet Thornton keeps that NB position.
    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
